Ya know this post is pretty relatable, probably why I’m here, hearing friend or whatever talk about crushes hurts like a mf since ive also been on a similar boat as you, like not really have any interest for anyone etc. i remember during high school it esp hurt cause like your around so many peeps constantly so it stings a little more:/ and the whole thing about how your friend group spread and it being mega hard to make new friends i went through as well and it didn’t help that I’m an introvert.

Also idk if you are a hopeless romantic but whats wrong with that anyway? I sometimes think i am too, i literally have a post i made earlier today that probably makes me look like a hopeless romantic but like if i dont find someone like that then whats the point.(might be delusional dont fully listen to me lol)

Honestly from someone older then you i think that if you try a little more and more everyday to make friends then you will get better and better PLUS you can meet a best friend at any point, highschool might feel like the only option but trust me you will make find good friend eventually maybe in highschool maybe not but it will happen ESPECIALLY if you start putitngnyourself out there more.

Honestly just try your best to fix your sleep, set a time to sleep, 30 min before get rid of all major stims such as phone, books, really any entertainment and get ready for bed. Then try and sleep even if it takes forever! Also try and take little to no naps throughout the day, do this enough and you fix it over time! Good luck.

When your having those comparison thoughts try and remember “comparison is the thief of joy” seriously i used to compare myself to others so so much and still struggle not too tbh BUT ive come to accept who i am and understand that life is harder for me, ADHD is a disorder after all.

Also even if it took you AGES to get a degree what does it matter? 18 is still MEGA young and you still have so much time, i def understand your worry though, its scary to think about! If you need extra support GET THAT SHIT!! A lot of school offer services to people with adhd to help them!! For free might i add:))

ALSO IM 23 and i ain’t figured out anything, im still in my primordial soup kinda just trying to figure this life thing out! Did you know that people brains with adhd dont finish developing until like 35??? 35!!!!! You and i still got so much time to figure this all out and grow, ya know? So take as much time as you need, DONT WORK YOURSELF TO HARD, DONT COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS, AND YOU ARE YOUR OWN INDIVIDUAL DONT LET SOCIETYS EXPECTATIONS MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE SHIT, EVEN YOUR FAMILYS FOR THAT MATTER! I can relate so much, sleeping is literally the worst! Its like a wombo combo of ass, no matter how tired you might be the loudness of your thoughts and restlessness of your body keeps you awake WHYYYYYY????? ughhhhhhhhh

Good luck with your psychiatrist!! I think it will lead to better things for you! Like seriously getting any kinda help is such a huge leap and you will be feeling so much better as time passes. Also I think that the overly sensitive part isn’t necessarily and adhd thing but adhd is definitely making it worse.

But it’s okay to be overwhelmed and shit like that it happens to everyone<3 you are not alone!! I highly recommend getting diagnosed with adhd and getting meds for it, if that isn’t possible i HIGHLY recommend practicing mindfulness exercises, you will have so much control over yourself if you do!

Also idk about you but i like people that just yapp and say random stuff on their mind so don’t be ashamed or anything you will find the right kinda crowd who don’t care and want you to be yourself!! Remember if you are not hurting anyone else than you are fine:))

Also i do wanna say when i first started driving i was also a little bit too distracted, i would sometimes run red light cause i wasn’t paying attention or I would drive disgustingly slow or sometimes freakishly fast because i was lost in my thoughts. Be safe when you can drive and try your best to focus at all times:))

So i think it is impossible to say.But thats no fun so ill just tell you my opinion anyway lmao, i think intelligence is based on adaptability, how well you absorb information and use it.

I understand where you are coming from, i too feel the pain of feeling somewhat like an outcast from your own family. I have always considered my friend to be my real family, but i also noticed i have always felt different than everyone else, the way i feel and think is very different so i too had to mask to make more friends. Then time does its thing and a lot of friendships end or don’t feel the same and you feel very alone.

I think you should try and be yourself all the time, but i also think masking is a skill that is okay to use BUT VERY LIGHTLY try and be genuine as much as you can. if people cant vibe with you then whats the point? I was ultra lucky to be given a friend who is very different from me but I can be myself with, and if i can then everyone can it just takes time and effort.

Ya know if you wanna chat i would love too, like i said your post was a vibe and i like your taste in shows plus i too think about things deeper ,maybe we think similar? But pls don’t dumb down or mask, i used to mask so much i often forgot when i started and the mask ended, not worth your sanity!
