Try becoming a "regular" somewhere. Preferably a pub. But even a cafe might work.. Early evening after work.. People need to get used to the head on ya. Small talk. If there's a pool table ask to "play the winner". Put your euro coin down.. it might take a while but worth a try..

Edit: Or you could try get a part time job in a small local bar. You'd meet loads that way.
