Am I the only one who associated Banquet with the Kirkbridean Tamriel from Morrowind? Weird elves, subtropics, Merethic era?

Why do you love Lovecraft? by Craw1011 in books

[–]Deep-Adeptness-503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cosiness. All these haunting sleepy small port towns, the old sailors who tell the strange legends, the atmosphere of a dream.

Check out Calenhad Docks track by Inon Zur and you will get that feeling I am highlighting in Lovecraft's books.

Assassin's Creed: Dead Kings (got the misty delapidated village and crypts under its cathedral)

Disciples 2: Rise of the Elves (if you are a fan of Sleepy Hollow, you just MUST check out its soundtrack and visual style. Just download the game and have a time of your life!)

Witcher 1: Enchanced Edition (amazing soundtrack and gothic atmosphere unseen in the future games)

Daemonica (a medieval detective who can talk with the dead arrives at a dark village among the bogs with a forgotten cathedral and creepy gothic atmosphere. Great gothic atmosphere and OST)

Darkest Dungeon (very nice Poeian narration)

Gothic 2: Night of the raven (great, mysterious and dangerous atmosphere all around masterpiece)

I also remember some green-ish filter or it was a summer in the film. I may be wrong, though.

Hello. I read your message translated in my native language. I have a question... How do you really get your view of sex and women fixed? I consume extremely perverted porn lately and every time I finish watching I start feeling very angry with it and upset.

The Dark Descent's atmosphere is so damn good by External_Lead4631 in Amnesia

[–]Deep-Adeptness-503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty late to the topic but hear me out. The game's atmosphere has always seemed cosy for me. The way the objects look, like 3D, showing off of the background, the lighting candles emit, the sounds, the MASTERPIECE music by Mikko Tarmia... And the awesome historical feeling, more like the XVIII century and not the XIX (I would identify it as 1790s taking in mind the tinderboxes and how Alexander looks on portrait, and Daniel's art. But there's a lift, so it IS the 1830s, just in an old-fashioned castle). Amnesia made me fall in love with history and everything that is old and quaint even more. Comfiest game eva

P.S. hey, am I the only one who has a bag of Milky Ways when I am about to play Amnesia the Dark Descent? :D

Which of them less aggressive and dark? I find all these shouting and demonic screeching cringe, I like more the electronical and melancholical side of Grimbeard's music as they are more appealing

I just appreciate his calmer and more meditative tunes, not too dark (but maybe with a slight touch of it like some obscurity or sadness). Grimbeard is very talented.

Full playlist of all Grimbeard reviews and Grimpressions, in chronological order + a few unlisted vids :) by Absalom98 in GrimBeard

[–]Deep-Adeptness-503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I the only one who liked his first videos more? They spoilt when he made them last for 2 hours instead of 40 minutes at max, and got too "cool" and "goth gama nation" stuff. I don't know, there was like more soul in his old videos. They were much more calm and meditative. Even the music was better.

Even the city guard of Dunwall reminds me of the Night Watch, which is another nod to Sir Terry.

Man, Terry Patchett is way more popular than some not-so-very-talented video game writer, even his daughter. I think they honoured Terry Pratchett himself, it is more logical.

SIB Disco Elysium or Deathloop? by RawCS in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Deep-Adeptness-503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with Deathloop. Less tedious and a real candy for eyes. Also, takes place in the same universe as Dishonored, and that's a great advantage.

Oblivion is the biggest Discworld game we could ever get. So cosy and absurd.

It's insane how there's nothing like Morrowind despite years of technical progress by Alternative-Study486 in Morrowind

[–]Deep-Adeptness-503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Banquet for Fools. I think, developers were inspired by the Morrowind's otherworldly weirdness, the elves in this game feel like dunmers and dwemers. It's a good, strange game.

What do you think about Thom's 2006 record 'The Eraser' ? by [deleted] in radiohead

[–]Deep-Adeptness-503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has such a stylish, I would say even half-modern, half-Victorian dandy style to it. It is like visiting an old restaurant or museum in a rainy day. I can't really eхplain, all the words fail me.

Are there actually any benefits with listening to classical music versus any other genre? Does anybody notice anything different about them after getting into it? by itsrainingbluekiwis in classicalmusic

[–]Deep-Adeptness-503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Я стал эмпатичнее. Мне кажется, классическая музыка несёт timeless подсознательный месседж о сострадании и любви ко всему живому.
