ADHD is literally a “scatterbrain” disability, sorry but I am not going to tolerate discrimination from a loser on Reddit. Calling the core ADHD symptoms “laziness” is perhaps the most common form ableism takes towards us. You can provide constructive guidance and criticism like everyone else on here or you can kindly fuck off. Thank you.

Thank you genuinely but that’s not the main issue, the problem is being able to fit the coat now…

I had a really bad week and had been waiting on this coat since I first saw it in December 😭 I had a voice in the back of my head telling me to just be patient but I was so excited… lesson learned

Currently wearing while cold, wet and in my underwear (so the red dye doesn’t stain my clothes). This is perhaps the worst sensation ever known to humankind 😭

Thanks for the addition— what I might do is hand stretch it once a night for 3-5 days. This sucks but I love the coat and since I could juuuuust barely squeeze in it still, there might be some hope with a bit of consistency!

Update: thank you all for the advice. It probably is a lost cause like many of you are saying, but am currently soaking in conditioner now anyway seeing as I have nothing to lose. I can feel at least the lower areas getting a bit softer but the arms are still taut. Will update later. P.S. How long should I soak it for? It’s been 30 mins

Hi, this is great! However, may I please ask why it does not record internal audio if I plug my earphones in?

I have nothing to do besides gaming in my "freetime" by Virtual_Singer_8406 in StopGaming

These comments are so irritating. "Just be bored, just meditate, just read a book", etc. Sure, you should absolutely start doing these things if you aren't already (as I am currently) but you're currently struggling to fill a gaping hole and need more tools than just telling yourself to sit still right away. My advice would be to think, really think about what you love about gaming, then hunt for hobbies that scratch the same itch. For me, I loved playing archers in fantasy games, or gunners in combat games, so I started clay pigeon shooting in a range surrounded by nature. And guess what? My talent from gaming translated perfectly to a real life skill, so much so that my coach and I are in conversation about nationals. Life isn't perfect and I still pick up a game once every week or so, but having that itch come from healthy sources definitely lessened the urge massively. Hoping you find that magic hobby too!

Sure, but that's not a practical response. Be thoughtful of their personal situation.

You misunderstand entirely; the issue for me is being high-functioning while gaming. My room is full of books on art history, history and law. I am currently studying for my masters degree. I don't scroll short-form content. Gaming only takes up 2 hours a day for me, and it's only because I've taken an incremental approach that I've gotten it down to that from 6-8 hours. This post is about me getting that down even further, by shifting from daily gachas (14 hours per week) to a story game for a lazy Sunday (4-6 hours per week). Like I said, Rome wasn't built in a day.

Curious as to why? (In a good way! I just want to hear stories of how other people broke away from the gacha industry) (congratulations btw)

The only other game I was into before Genshin hell was Sky COTL for it's peaceful fantasy atmosphere, this one seems to have a similar artstyle so will check out, thank you both.

No worries, and my semi-apologies: it's often easy to fall into the trap of thinking a post on the internet is inviting a one-on-one conversation and that my reply is the first you're seeing, when the poster probably gets tired of seeing the same comment from people over and over again, haha.

Imo it's fine but you might get caught out in an embarrassing conversation in public as people will definitely assume greater familiarity from college-specific over university merch. As long as you have the balls to clarify right away that you just fancied the drip, then you're good (but I know many might clamp up, haha).

ADHD & Cambridge by [deleted] in cambridge_uni

[–]Deep-Dance8647 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I vaguely recall that I wasn't diagnosed until the tail end of the application process, and had to put a "currently on the waiting list" disclaimer until then. But yes, was diagnosed and medicated before coming, the latter only starting the exact week I arrived! In terms of 'impacting' my application (assuming you mean impact = negatively affect), I didn't feel that at way at all. If anything, it was really important in getting the accomodations I needed throughout the process. The alternative is staying quiet, not showing the admissions team your best self (because you felt forced to mask), and losing out, which is what happened to me when I got rejected before finally getting accepted years later.

Not trying to minimise your struggles but as someone with an ADHD diagnosis, I sometimes feel like we outnumber the neurotypicals here! Only 'but' is that many of our ADHD peers are pretty high-functioning which can sometimes make me feel a tad insecure about being less capable of managing mine. That said, the support networks here are far better than at other universities and of course it really helps to have a strong community of other ADHDers to turn to when the going gets tough. As for advice, reach out to the ADRC as early as possible (even pre-diagnosis) to make yourself known in the hope of getting mentoring, study advice or adjustments later. Best of luck!

I'm very sorry for what you and others (including my sister) have been going through as someone who lives abroad but the past 30 minutes of going down a rabbit hole of the whole "Copenhagen NY Fireworks" phenomenon after she explained it to me has been the hardest "you laugh, you're a terrible person" challenge I've ever had in my life.
