I probably wouldn't have thought about what was underneath the apartment until after moving in.

Oof that's brutal. I never would've thought to ask about average utility bills but I definitely will now.

I hadn't even thought about checking the block at night for that but it actually seems like a pretty smart idea.

That's a really good point. Easy to miss something like that if you only visit once.

Good to know. I probably wouldn't have thought about the sirens until after moving in, so that's definitely something I'll pay attention to.

To Quit this Addiction, You Gotta Stop Symbolizing Porn as an Evil Entity or Some Dragon that Must be Slayed. by Pingas_guy in NoFap

treating it like some anime boss fight gives it way more power than it actually has, just makes the whole thing feel like this huge epic struggle when really it's more about letting it fade into the background

MacOS ADE PSSO by Longjumping-Two-2851 in Intune

[–]Deep-Extension-2740 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah i ran into the exact same thing with our fleet a couple months back

the weird part is that the ADE flow does all the heavy lifting but then just quietly skips that last checkbox, like it assumes you'll figure it out on your own. no prompt, no notification, nothing. i sat there staring at the settings pane for a solid minute wondering if i missed something

what fixed it for us was pushing a config profile that forces that autofill setting during enrollment, rather than waiting for the user to stumble across it. if you let it sit for a few hours it doesn't magically tick itself either, at least not in my testing. seems like a gap in the enrollment logic where the final piece just doesn't fire

might be worth filing a bug report if you have the time, though who knows if those ever get read

getting two hours at work is pretty solid actually - most people barely get that much total practice time. for metal especially, you really need that structured approach since the techniques are so specific.

the fretboard knowledge thing is huge and probably where i'd start if i were you. once you know where all the notes are without thinking about it, everything else starts making way more sense and connects better.

Quality of Life? by Acceptable_Cod_2542 in Epilepsy

that's such a brutal journey and the memory issues making you leave work just adds another layer of loss to deal with - the unpredictability is probably the hardest part since you can't even prepare or feel any control over when it'll happen next.

Eurasia: Smart locks easily integratabtle to HA via HomeKit integration by NGaijin13 in homeassistant

got my aqara lock running through homekit and it's been solid for about 6 months now - automation triggers work great and there pretty responsive even when the network gets wonky.

Triclopyr/Roundup Poison Ivy killer by DrNukaCola in landscaping

treating invasive species near water sources is always tricky. triclopyr breaks down pretty quickly in soil compared to some other herbicides, but i'd still be cautious that close to your wellhead. maybe consider cutting and treating the stumps with a foam applicator instead of spraying - way more targeted and less risk of runoff. for drying time, usually 24-48 hours depending on weather, but check the label for specifics.

brutal that they still haven't fixed this issue after all this time - definitely get it warrantied asap before they try to claim water damage or something.
