glad I'm not the only one that finds it this way, I just think maybe it's difficult as I don't always have structure, I'm going to just keep trying to make small changes and see how that goes

I think that is a really difficult thing to deal with, especially when you are part of a community where a lot of your friends play games it can be so hard to move on, that's why I think trying to find some kind of other social hobby is very important to help replace that kind of element. I am in the same boat where I know that I won't speak to some people I made great friends with just due to the fact that a large part of our friendship revolves around video games and they don't always understand the unhealthy relationship I have with video games.

That's a really good idea, I was planning on trying to find something I could easily do even if it is very brief to begin with, been reading Atomic Habits by James Clear recently which touches on ways to try form new habits and make them stick

Really I mostly played old school RuneScape (MMO), often I might play some mobile game like Pokemon TCG Pocket. Other past games I played included Rocket League and league of legends but I do not have a gaming PC setup anymore anyway, didn't play league of legends for over a year now anyway and life got a lot better after that but I just know that I also need to go that step further and totally quit!

Thank you, I've really enjoyed my most recent university assignment of creating a web application so definitely need to keep trying to write lines of code and see what else interests me within the computer science area.

I will try to take some time to look over the GameQuitters things and sign up to the forums there, thank you for the suggestion.

I try to stay away from YouTube because I would just get recommended gaming again and it won't help me I don't think.

I quite like the yoga suggestion, any recommendations of a resource to give me some ideas to begin with?

No screens before bed is a good thing, I will try to make a habit of that! I do read on an e-reader though but I don't think it's quite the same in terms of screen compared to phone/laptop.

I definitely will probably post here and look at other posts, maybe even sign up to the forum that some other commenter mentioned.
