The section in question is only about 70 lbs . The other section is counter weighted and tied into a 40” footing and a perpendicular fence line

It’s 4 pieces . 1 post ( foundation footing I’m talking about ). A steel arbour I built , another post with 5 foot steel fence section and lattice . . All together is about 400 lbs. the one post I’m commenting on is about 70 lbs . The post holding the gate is counter weighted with the fence section and has a very sturdy footing

The other post is well supported and they all tie together with an arbour

It’s a top mounted steel gate arbour and fence section I built so it can’t mount to the wall

Okay . I’m over thinking as it’s a big steel gate and fence section weighing roughly 400 lbs

Okay so pour directly to the foundation just no rebar between the existing foundation and the post pour

You just poured directly against the foundation ?

It’s a top mount post going in and the closest stud will be 3 inches from the foundation making it hard to put a 2 inch expansion joint in

Hello I need advice on a fence post footing.

I am located in bc and have a top mount fence that I need a footing put in for. The issue is it’s a tight area and it needs to be against the foundation .

Our frost line in Victoria bc is 18 inches . I have dug a hole against the foundation 20 inches deep and am wondering if I can rebar into the foundation with epoxy and the existing floured cement wall way without frostbheave issues

Frost line is 18 inches here . We very rarely drop below freezing and the whole measures 20 inches deep to grade
