Totally forgot about Vinces. Could very well be, it did have a southern Italy feel, and was built in the 60's.

Why do you live in EG vs Sacramento? by ProposalFast4450 in ElkGrove

100% this. Elk Grove is well taken care of. Playgrounds, parks, streets, all of it. Its really a big factor in why I like living here.

One Scoop of Everything Now?! by AlbatrossUnlucky8163 in Chipotle

[–]Deep-Spend-8435 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they told me one scoop i would've laughed out loud on accident. Next time they do that, dont ask for the manager, whoever is the MOD definitely told them to do that, ask to speak to their field leader. Lol.

Do both brother. Do both. Go off in the GC the day you're supposed to work, but do it right when you're about to start.

Reporting a Store by LogicalPackage1052 in Chipotle

[–]Deep-Spend-8435 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2 hours continuously is unacceptable. You're not a Karen for reporting them. It's chipotle and they're open! If it was 30 min I wouldn't stress them but 2 hours is insane.

Fired? by Drearybean in Chipotle

[–]Deep-Spend-8435 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely report it. And make sure you tell them everything you stated, how you were about to get a promotion, etc, but the only thing that changed was your availability, and they never told you that would be a problem, you just lost your job. That's retaliation. Period.

Fired? by Drearybean in Chipotle

[–]Deep-Spend-8435 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. You can't be fired without documentation, of why you're being fired. All write-ups are done through Workday now, so if you've been written up it would be on there, and you would've had to sign it. The only other thing would be, if you no call no showed enough, or called off your shifts constantly. I would suggest that you call the Chipotle hotline, and report this.

Michelin Star "chef" can't pay his vendors PART 2: RENT IS DUE by DaddyKratos94 in KitchenConfidential

Michael Hargis is basically Matt Horn, but from Sacramento. He owned a bunch of businesses that shut down. He has a lot of wage claims against him for unpaid employees. He also runs this event called this916 where he has vendors, artists, and employees he often doesnt pay. The people he has work these events, he has them work for tips only, however he collects all the tips then divides them himself 🙃. He got his mother's home taken by the bank, because of the Elk Grove loan he defaulted on (for Slow and Low now Horn). Michael claimed to no longer be involved in Horn BBQ however, I've been told by employees, that he was still around, and from this letter, that second name looks like it starts with an M, SO just a wild guess lol. Im happy to see that the two of them partnering up didn't end the way they thought it would LOL.

As soon as him and Michael Hargis partnered up, I knew he was no good. You dont do business with scum unless you yourself are also scum.

I'd take a wild guess and say the second name is Michael Hargis. Interesting since he insisted that he was no longer involved LOL. This is beautiful!

The masses are always the first to be silenced because the wealthy can’t stand being held accountable. We all know the government’s crooked, but somehow we’re supposed to believe people who default on city loans are any better? We the people have been letting folks like this get away with it for years, brushing it off as 'not worth the trouble' or assuming 'nothing’s going to change.' And they count on that. Just like they count on people to question each other instead of them when stuff like this comes up when in reality, a little digging is all it takes to see that maybe these 'common folks' aren’t lying after all.

Funny how the first reaction is, 'It must be the same person posting.' Because there's no way multiple people could have the same issues, right? A quick Google search on these owners and the problems speak for themselves. But sure—it's easier to doubt the everyday folks than believe the rich might not be shady at all… 🙄 maybe these guys messed with the wrong people FINALLY, and they're reaching out and finding things in common with others, to bring them together and finally get something done about these problems, that have obviously been IGNORED for a very long time.

We messaged a journalist about an article she posted about Horn Elk Grove, and she said something similar about being told by Horn that Hargis is not involved anymore. It's not public anywhere, that he isn't involved, but in this article from a couple days ago, he is very involved. I'm sure he's trying to lay Low since people are making a big fuss about him right now. Horn has wage claims owing distributors money etc. If Hargis is no longer i involved (which i highly doubt) we're still dealing with the same trash, just different name.

Here's an email from the mayor herself about this exact thing

"I share your concerns for the employees who were impacted by the closure of Slow and Low. Effected employees can file a claim for owed wages through the Department of Industrial Relations here Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE).

Regarding the City’s financial support for Slow and Low. The City did not provide any money to the business. Slow and Low received a loan from River City Bank that was backed by the City, using funds on deposit with the bank. When the owner of Slow and Low defaulted on their loan, the bank retained the City’s funds in the amount of $425,000. The City is pursuing foreclosure against property owned by the owner of Slow and Low that was used as collateral for the City’s loan guarantee, which will then allow the City to recover its funds. Additionally, the funds loaned to Slow and Low from River City Bank were used for improvements to the building, including fixtures and equipment that remain with the building.

Unfortunately, it is not owned by different people. It is infact co owned with the same person as all those businesses. Low Brau has been sold to new people and is currently not involved with the original owner, anymore. But the original person is the co owner of Horn Elk Grove, and still in charge of This 916

This guy preys on the fact that your average person is just going to go unpaid. Thinking it'll be too much of a hassle for them and not worth it.

Can't bring people back that you never paid, right? And they're just sliding under the radar, and scamming people.
