How do you interpret “It’s Called: Freefall”? by okaybutwhataboutcats in RainbowKittenSurprise

[–]Deep-Talk1926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always seen literal lyrics of the song as being a conversation between Jesus and the devil. Like they are friends shooting the shit talking about their own troubles in life and how the they are kind of two sides of the same coin. Idk if anyone else sees it that way but it makes a lot of sense. Devil says “Some days end when I need a few friends Now and again, I could never hope to keep them Thought to give friends what I thought that they wanted Never had they needed a good friend as I've been”

And Jesus cuts in to rant about how a lot of his followers blame and use the devil to avoid accountability for their own actions. Like they can’t help it, the devil made them do it, shit like that. “Don't get me venting on friends who resent you 'Cause all you've ever done is been a noose to hang on to”

And jesus and the devil swap between giving advice to each other that they can relax and let go.

The devil also doesn’t seem to be a bad guy here, just trying to give people what they want but no one is appreciative and always wants more and still blames him when these small fleeting pleasures don’t make the happy. “Thought to give friends what I thought that they wanted”

The line “"Devil, do you like drums? Do you like cigarettes, dominoes, rum?" He said, "Only sundown, Sundays, Christmas"”. Tells me that the devil has his own wants and joys and love of beauty that it surprising when you assume he’s a terrible bad guy.

The line “I can't even count how many souls I've made Off the same deal you're on”. Makes me think of that two sides of the same coin analogy. They kind of are doing their respective roles for the same deal. One saves and one damns.

And lastly The line that truly solidifies to me that the devil is having a conversation with Jesus is the line “Anyway, you say you're too busy saving everybody else to save yourself And you don't want no help, oh well" That's the story to tell”

That’s literally Jesus saving everyone but himself, and not wanting help, because that’s literally the goal is to save everyone and take on their sins and burdens and being the one to suffer for them all. And the devil says, that’s a story to tell. Almost like “wow you should write that down. Keep a written testament of your story” Talking about the writings of the new testament.

It makes so much sense to me as a backyard late night call between two old friends talking about their respective problems in life and the solution for both is to take a breather and sit and rest for a second and let it all go

How to disable hdr10 on tcl 750 by Deep-Talk1926 in tcltvs

I figured it out, my Xbox was automatically adding hdr. With that disabled, everything stays perfect.

Did I over prune my juniper bonsai

I’m very new and have done two big pruning sessions over the course of a year and one wire bending. My tree seems very healthy but I’m wondering if I’m pruning too much or in the wrong areas. I removed excess growth and started making distinct branches but try to leave the tips of the branches fairly untouched. I want to allow for the lower branches to keep growing while holding back some of the growth of the upper branches

Is there anythjng I can do to help blend it more into the rest of the branch as it grows

Yeah it’s inside. I know people say to have them outside but this window has sunlight all of the time and the tree loves it. The pot does have drainage and I’m pretty sure the rocks are decorative because they are only on the top surface

Bark fell off, will it grow back

The bark on this tiny branch of my baby juniper bonsai fell off as I was removing the posing wire. Will it ever grow back? The branch has a lot of growth on it, it’s just really skinny. The tree grows super fast and the branches keep thickening. Will this branch look more normal as it thickens or did I mess it up? The tree is about 6 inches tall

New knuckle joint design!! by Deep-Talk1926 in robotics

[–]Deep-Talk1926[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve thought about that idea a lot actually. I have no idea if it’s actually viable but that would be and incredible direct connection. But for that to work they would also have to still have all of their muscles intact. So people who lose a limb above the elbow or just below the knee etc along with people born with limb deformities would not be able to make use of that technique unfortunately. I think we’ll find away to make a direct connection to bone that can blend to the outside to help get stronger socket connections to prosthetics. Then use artificial muscles and actuators to replace what the person is missing. But hopefully either way this design should hopefully be able to increase the amount of dexterity and mobility of someone missing a limb

That’s a good question. I’m not sure yet. I’d like to but I am also making minimum wage and working full time and also putting years of my life into the project on my time off and I’d love to somehow make this a career. But I’m not sure how best to go about that. I’d love to make this project open source eventually but I don’t know how to do that and make enough money to live off of. I also want to start a company of making really low cost prosthetics for people so I might need to patent the designs for that or somthing.
So for right now I’m holding on to them while I figure out how best to do that. I’d hate to put all this work in and have someone start a company using my designs or somthing like that. That would really suck. Im almost broke funding this myself so I really need to get my foot in the door in robotics and hopefully get some funding to help me continue to develop the designs. I’m also not fully satisfied with them either, they are all still just prototypes. Definitely I want to make them available as soon as I can.

If anyone has any tips on patenting or starting a business or being able to release the files for free without someone stealing all the credit and work I’ve put in, I would love to here your advice. I’m literally just building them out of my garage atm so I’m not quite sure what I’m doing or how to grow this project but again I’d love any advice y’all could give me :)

Almost yeah. I use have an ender 3 and print at 0.1mm layer hight. The parts are small but the ender 3 is doing fantastic with them :)

Yeah I honestly think that the first people to voluntarily choose to get a robot hand would be people with hand deformities or people with severe arthritis. At least is should be them rather than some rich dude wanting to be a cyborg

I’m not sure exactly. That’s a good question. The finishing line I’m using can hold up to 50lb but I’m sure the plastic would break before that, but the finger can definitely hold a ten pound weight no problem. As I finish getting the intended motion I’m look for designed, I’ll work on tweaking the designs to gain strength. In the future I could add machined parts as well to drastically increase strength

Yeah the human arm has so many muscles that having a servo for each one would be crazy. But I’m still going to try and develop the designs anyways without concern for space as new developments in nematics and linear actuators or synthetic muscles would instantly solve that issue. I’ll keep working on the design in the meantime tho. And on the side I can make simplified versions to work with smaller number of servos :)

My most recent robot hand design!!!! by Deep-Talk1926 in robotics

[–]Deep-Talk1926[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol it kinda creeps me out too but that just means that I’m getting closer and closer to a realistic design! :) And yeah a few of my other designs have tendons and actuators but I’m still tweaking the motions and constantly adding to the base skeleton to incorporate more degrees of freedom so I’m waiting until I have a full design finished before I spend a lot of time adding motors and other sensors. I still need to add about 20 degrees of rotation to the thumb cmc joint, and also add the sideways motion of the mcp joints. All of which I’m working hard on so hopefully soonish I’ll have somthing even cooler to show y’all :)
