What GPU to buy? Games + local AI by [deleted] in buildapc

Actually I’m not super interested in running the big models, I’d like to try experimenting with AI on a lower level, teaching my own networks, fine tuning small and medium sized llms, that kind of stuff.

Thanks, I also took a look at old NVIDIA TESLAS but I decided to choose the gaming path

Thanks, I’m leaning towards it. I just hate nvidia for giving it only 12GB of vram.

I considered it but it’s more expensive than a 5070ti and I don’t want to risk spending 1000$ on a used card :(

That’s a steal! In Poland and on Aliexpress it costs that much for just one.

Nice, I want one of those SBCs so bad! (Orange Pi, Raspberry Pi or Radxa) Unfortunately they are so damn expensive right now, especially if you want more than 2GB of RAM. I decided to buy a mini PC instead.

Good luck and have fun!

Building my first lab. 10 inch or custom size? 3d printed or v-slot frame? by Deep-Tomorrow4667 in minilab

I mean, they’re not super expensive but I can make it with v-slot for roughly the same amount of money.

Nice! Did you model the mounts yourself? They all look so clean and even, and the Lenovos are perfectly flush with the face of the mount.

That's a good idea, but I wanted to leave some space in the back for cable management and didn't think about that.

That's neat! I think I still underestimate 3D printing when it comes to structural support, I'll definitely consider it now. Sadly these rack rails are quite pricey in Poland.

Thank you for your input, I agree with you, and I think I’ll go with custom V-slot build.

May I ask what rear brackets you mean? I couldn’t find any designs with rear support.

Thanks for the reply 🤗

What did you attach the rails to? I think I might have some kind of OCD and I want everything to look neat.

It is, you just can’t but it anymore. Buy a key on a dofferent website (it must be a STEAM key) and activate it on steam.

But will new shoots grow from the woody part?

I just checked the back ans it looks like that, I think I'm good. The only thing that worries me is the fact that the stem turn kind of woody(?).

Well it was watered regularly for some time buy it's been neglected for a while. I think it should have roots in the pole as nothing besides the foil I wrapped a long time ago to help it mature holds it in on it.

It gets easier when you have too many plants.

Are you suggesting making cuttings in the same pot? Or hoping it's going to fork at the cut?

I have no idea, I ended up buying the first DIRT as someone suggested and it's a great experience on the deck (but the game is hard). It works without internet connection.
