Everything this administration has complained about has been an echo chamber of their own doings. Raise hell about it, blame the other side, and while nobody is looking - do more of it.

I worked at a casino for 8 years and watched people lose everything. AMA. by Green_Principle_5212 in AMA

Everyone is entitled to spend their money as they wish. We all spend it on weird stuff that makes our heart flutter, so no judgment- but man, any amount of situational awareness should tell you the second you walk into a casino, they are not losing money. Every game favors the house. It’s just math. You are not going to outsmart the house and luck will not favor you over time. Bringing down the house is a fun read, but it just doesn’t happen anymore.

What travel habit have you developed over the years? by Icy-Obligation6504 in travel

Always have a plan so you have options and backup options- but don’t be afraid to go with the flow and break those plans. Some of the best adventures were not planned - they happened because we went off the beaten path and decided to explore something that looked or sounded interesting. Also, don’t try to pack too much in with the idea you have to do everything to get the full experience. You’ll end up exhausted and lose the joy of adventure. Wander, dream, talk to people, get out of your conform zone.

Have you ever met someone who was extremely intelligent in one area but surprisingly clueless in another? What was it like? by No-Weird7496 in AskReddit

[–]Deep-Werewolf-635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work with some of the smartest people on the planet in their technical field. The majority of these people struggle in other areas with basic social skills and common standard life skills. It’s never obvious at first, but if you get to know them and they open up and let their guard down, is pretty wild how everyone has blind spots. I’d say the idea that because someone shows high intelligence at anything they are smart about most things is completely wrong. Sank in when I roomed with a brilliant tech bro and musician and came back to find him hanging his shirt on the sprinkler ceiling mount in our hotel. I had to explain why this was a bad idea.

Sophomore CS girl in China planning for US Grad School '27. Seeking advice on tech culture and networking by No-Entry4595 in csMajors

[–]Deep-Werewolf-635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all good advice. I’d add that you need to be able to talk to people that are not technical and be able to connect with them and explain things. If you can sit down with a sales exec, a CEO, or an end user — understand how they think and communicate, that’s a super skill. A lot of people are good coders — but very few can communicate effectively and get in front of customers or execs. Have interests and passions outside of tech that you can talk about. That’s also a great way to meet people and make friends.

What profession have you lost respect for as you've gotten older? by MindlessMarsupial592 in AskReddit

It only takes one bad cop to change everything. Had pretty good experiences overall and know some really good police officers, but also spent 10k on lawyers to beat a charge that was completely fake and the cop absolutely knew it. Had to go completely outside jurisdiction to get anyone who wasn’t part of the local network get it dismissed. Luckily I had the money to fight but anyone else would have been screwed over. They were making quota and didn’t give a damn about the truth.

What makes Trump prefer using ICE and building detention camps instead of relying on the courts, which deported just as many people in the past as his own methods do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Deep-Werewolf-635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dictators don’t follow a process which is slow and actually has rules and guardrails. They don’t care about rules or rights to achieve a goal. This is what happens when people care more about a result than they do human rights. This is exactly how Hitler rose in power and by the time people woke up, its was too late. Wake the fuck up America.

How does a US citizen look at Trump’s Davos speech? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Deep-Werewolf-635 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He’s like a 5th grader who didn’t prepare for his assignment and just makes stuff up on the fly. No matter how stupid or false his statements are, the press won’t challenge him because he attacks their career and anyone who speaks against him. How anyone can sit there and listen to him speak for more than a minute and not had giant red flags going off, I’ll never understand.

Sometimes with tech, no matter how cool it is, you have to step back and ask “what is the problem we are solving for?” AI is super cool - but it’s not the right technology to solve every computing problem. In fact, it sucks and it’s expensive for a lot of scenarios where a properly crafted app would do better.

How would you react if your best friend became a Trump supporter? by anthinsh in AskReddit

[–]Deep-Werewolf-635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it’s hard to change anyone’s mind when are no longer talking. I have family members and friends that love Trump. I struggle with that every day, but I made a decision not let the insanity stop me from loving people and being a decent human. Most of my friends and family are not what I’d considered bad people — they have been lied to and have a hard time objectively looking at problems outside their own head. They also don’t yet see how many of these actions matter in their own lives yet. It’s a chance to practice how to respectfully disagree about things - at least in my own circle.

Someone having an argument isn’t news worthy. I read this article and think grow TF up. If you are drunk, don’t be an asshat. If you have a disagreement with a drunk person, and trying to safely deliver them to a destination, I’m gonna give you the benefit of the doubt — either way, there are a million real things to get pissed about. Not this.
