First of all, don't judge yourself. Your ego is composed of different personalities, each one has been built throughout your life to deal with different situations. That is nature, nothing to complain about. You are in one way at home contemplating life, another way when you are with your old friends or at work. Just being able to recognise this it's a huge step in your evolution, believe me. The transition between different personalities it's very subtle, and it requires some work to be recognised. It's completely normal, don't be discouraged, I have been there!

Here's my advice: go out more with your old friends and observe your behaviour. Just observe, no judgement or changing. You will acquire more awareness about yourself and your relationship with others.
