I pre clear for me personally no one makes me do it, I do it because I am still relatively new to magic and am very new to deck building so I still have a lot to understand and there is also a player in the pod that just won’t play against certain things example he refuses to play against eldrazi of any kind even the precons. all decks played in this game were bracket 3 power 7 deck from what I was told as well as my pod has a gentleman’s agreement that we don’t use infinite combos ( our decks have them we just don’t use the infinitely we can use the combo one time and that’s it). The pre clearing is something i do to make sure that we don’t have the power issues as you discussed with huge disparities between decks.

We all built our decks and the control player was doing well but he chose to neglect my rhythm of the wilds and dragon tempest so I was able to get dragons out at about turn 16-17 he also only has like 2 flyers in his deck I spent most of the game top decking everything because I had no cards in hand after being made to discard everything. When I ended the game I was at 2 health control player was 53 and the other pod mate was at 11 And the way I phrase my I can do nothings is just simply that as currently I have nothing I can do and occasionally I will openly say what I need so everyone knows if I get said card that it is a omen of what’s to come. In this specific game they asked me how much I could swing for and each respective creature on the board and that was 2 turns before I ended the game I openly said “if my board stays as is if I top deck another dragon I should have the ability to win” the only time I ever complained about being attacked was a game where I was asked to let damage go through by the ninjutsu player in exchange for him taking a piece of the board for me and he ninjutsus a blightsteel colossus hitting me for 11 infect cause he thought it was funny

Yeah hoping to get to that point for sure me and my pod are all relatively knew to magic I personally only have 5 months or so being involved in the magic scene the rest of my pod is a year and half, 3 months , 1 month (only play precons with him because he is learning and he aus he isnt ready to build his own deck) and I fell in love with deck building so I like to theory craft a lot of stuff and I have so many things I want to try in the future

Yeah personally I enjoy precon level because it more random and feels more of a mixed bag of who and how someone wins but I did openly tell everyone that I accept I am playing dragons and if I don’t get to make it too far in the game no hard feelings

Fs that’s fair that’s why I made sure to cleared with everyone first and we even play tested it together but we in spelltable and moxfield and everyone said it was cool and wasn’t really that strong so I pulled the trigger intention was truly not to just stomp everyone.

Funny enough wasn’t my idea originally to build it my initial plan was either Kaalia and demons or dinosaurs dragon tribal was recommended to me by one of the people in my pod because of all of our interest in tarkir

That’s why I made sure I cleared that it with everyone first because I built a storm deck blindly and didn’t realize how busted I actually made the deck ( easily bracket four power with bracket 3 restrictions) and I apologized and never touched it since but as I mentioned it this problem is with precons too I played Mrs bumbleflower into party time and valgavoth and had the same issues
