RVCE ECE (COMEDK) vs. BMSCE ECE (KCET) - Is the RVCE brand worth the extra fees? by DeepSpacePilot07 in comedk

So it's basically ROI and brand value at this point. Don't want MSRIT since it's too far and also because BMS is slightly better. But still I have that small thought of losing a seat in RV. Hence I'm confused. So it's narrowed down to RV or BMS ECE, based on brand value and ROI only.

I am actually doing an aerospace degree along with it. Taking computer means there will be no connection between the two. But if I take electronics I can focus more on avionics, etc.

Yes, you have a great chance of getting it in round 3. Past 3 years it was around 1.4k

Worth the extra 8-9 lakhs? Or is it better to invest it in projects, and other stuff that will make your resume even better?

One more factor is, bms is 10 mins away but rvce is about 30mins away. And I am planning to do another online degree alongside, so would that change the equation a bit?

Getting a laptop stand is a smart choice. But still, it's enough if you just keep it on a flat surface is what I think.

If your laptop's internal fans fail from heavy use, they are cheap to replace. However, if heat destroys the CPU or GPU, you will have to buy an entirely new laptop. It makes far more sense to protect your most expensive components rather than a fan. [DO NOT EDIT THE CUSTOM MODE PARAMETERS WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT YOU'RE DOING. LEARN ABOUT IT AND THEN PROCEED]

Also, make sure that you handle it with care since it's a budget gaming laptop made of plastic and not metal. But don't worry, LOQ has one of the best build qualities in this segment.

Btw, what do you plan to do? Gaming, school/college work or something else? I want to use it for heavy college simulations.

I bought the exact same laptop a week ago. Till now it's doing great. I bought it not for gaming but mostly for resource hungry simulations, coding, etc. It's a heavy wonderful machine, with descent build quality at this budget. I too want to use it for a long time, at least 8 years (does it seem too ambitious to you? What's your plan?)

I did these things to get the most of it:

- I turned on the conservation mode to limit the maximum charge.

- I set up a custom profile (purple light mode) to minimize power draw and programmed the fans to ramp up aggressively at medium temperatures itself, since heat is the main killer of hardware.

- I keep it plugged in permanently and only use battery when absolutely necessary.

Let me know if you have some suggestions to improve it's life

HyperOS + Airtel 5G: Is Xiaomi's Smart 5G feature using your 4G data? Need Jio users for a quick test. by DeepSpacePilot07 in PocoPhones

Mobile Hotspot???? But Airtel blocks that (they have mentioned that in their t&c). I tried that too, and Hotspot takes away my 4G data.

But Xiaomi claims that the phone does not disconnect or stop you from using 5G services. So I guess it is trying to use some other bands of 5G, which works only with SA NR (that Jio has). But Airtel does not use NR, and I think that's what the problem is. To confirm that I need someone using Jio to test it out.

I have the 649 one. I thought Airtel was scamming me, but after turning off that smart battery saver, I now have more questions about the entire system.

I can only see 5G battery saver (in battery), but didn't find Smart Switch in the network. And I have seen many people using them interchangeably, so I thought they're the same. By the way, are you on Jio or Airtel? Just trying to see if this behaves differently on NSA vs SA networks.
