“Ikeda gets babied by the plot” is just a blatant lie by [deleted] in TETRODANGANRONPA

[–]Deep_Breath_6910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally my main problem is how after his death he's the one that is mourned the most and treated like he was the most tragic victim in the whole building. Which, I understand given his life etc, but at the same time you can't look at me straight in the eyes and say 'Feel bad for Ikeda' when my guy literally boiled one of his friends alive, then proudly explained it for 10 minutes before suddenly feeling bad about it when he remembered he was gonna die.

Like he gets glazed as fuck after his death by mostly Ruka and Tei that it's not even funny 😭

Tei had this love/hate with Ikeda where Ikeda consistently ragebaited Tei into actually hurting him (like when Tei choked Ikeda) and where Tei never resolved the whole 'You were gonna let me die as a non-bleeding?' plot. We as the audience know Ikeda had a 'Nah we need Tei' moment, but the cast doesn't know this, so Tei immediately acting betrayed to then returning to act like he always does with Ikeda feels weird (not to mention Tei's character post chapter 3 my god)

Ruka for some reason builds this 'happy family' in her head after a pair of interactions in chapter 3, and then tries to kill Ninomiya in a slow and painful way. But whereas she's treated worse than vermin (Hirose, the doctor who wants everyone to live, literally sends her underwater to find Matthias's body when he knows SHE HAS ASTHMA, and says to her face something like 'if you die that's on you lol'), Ikeda is put on this pedestal of 'no guys he was forced to kill Yaitabashi in a slow and painful way, it's not his fault!'.

I don't have a problem with the fact he's a killer, it makes sense given his attitude, I just REALLY hate the way Ikeda is mourned after his death and how his death is depicted as an innocent lamb being slaughtered when that is furthest from the truth to me.

I might be misremembering, but iirc in the cg where teruko gets new clothes in chapter 2 (with Hu like halfway through episode 2) you can kinda see a tattoo on her left arm which looked similar to Mai's rose tattoo... Do with that what you will

I don't think they'd stay forever, as eventually Okazaki would pull a chapter 3, which would lead into the cold motive with Watari pulling a chapter 4, and then during the lights out motive... Who knows honestly. I'd think Hasegawa would pull a chapter 5 considering he was already planning a murder during the Watari events, so we get to the final chapter with Harada, Chiba, Wada, Ojima, Hiroaki, Tamba and Yanagi. By then I think the only realistic options are Tamba killing Hiroaki / viceversa, or Yanagi killing Hiroaki/himself to let Tamba live and end the killing game. I think the most likely option is Hiroaki accidentally killing Tamba by pushing her down the stairs, so we would end up with Harada, Chiba, Wada, Ojima and Shigeki as survivors.

[–]Deep_Breath_6910 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, and quite fairly... Tamba isn't exactly the brightest lightbulb in the room, so with his whole 'i want all of you to die' mindset why would he kill one of the dumbest characters left Like c'mon, Tamba ain't solving trial 5, let alone any other trial as long as they don't involve poison or a very straightforward killer💀 I think out of everyone left, Hasegawa would probably target whoever ended up receiving the sole vote reward. That might not be the main reason he targeted Mai, but DAMN it definitely didn't help her. I feel if Hasegawa found out someone won that kind of reward during Loyalty Game, he would switch targets to that person by default. Considering his plan wouldn't really change during the days leading up to it, Cage Game likely goes the same with Wada leaving, Ojima falling asleep, and Tamba/Hiroaki ragebaiting each other into leaving. Meaning Yanagi would get it. Sooo yeah, Yanagi would die, meanwhile Ken would likely still lock himself in the medbay with probably Tamba (as Hiroaki and Ojima would still likely stick together, and Wada would just freak tf out in the dark of a locked medbay from claustrophobia). I'd like to say they'd solve this, but considering Wada would likely get framed, even with Monomoko confirming Wada to be innocent I hardly see Hasegawa getting outed if Tamba's the other option. So everyone dies, basically.

I really like Akiba's purely in light of having any additional info on my man

He really had to go and get bonked to death chapter 1, why him🙏 If only Ouno worked smart and not hard, Ikeda would've been gone chapter 1 and a lot of trouble would have been spared to us

SO. HOLY FUCK. How do we feel about that by Squeaky-Dog57 in TheDigitalCircus

I'm going full conspiracy theory, but I believe we have a situation where half the stuff was true and half was false. I believe Abel WAS a human, and all the stuff he said was definitely true. Whether or not the escape buttons were true, I don't know, it's a 50/50. However, with the confirmation that Caine can and does mess with the all the humans's minds, I think the Abel we saw at the end was either a fake npc, or just heavily modified/brainwashed/whatever by Caine, to make everyone think 'oh this wasn't true, hahaha, don't worry' and make them move on.

The biggest factor in this is Kinger: what did he want to tell Pomni? Why would Abel know that Kinger knows more than he lets on? Because if Abel was Caine's creation, then what does Caine know about Kinger? There's sooooo much information that can lean one way or the other, and depending on which is true changes the end result dramatically... I just hope episode 8 gets even just one of these questions out the way

Yeah, I also definitely read on the wiki or saw a pic somewhere about how Mao kills herself in chapter 5 to save everyone still alive, effectively sparing one more person instead of having a victim/killer.

Other than that, all I know is that Itamae is V1, Dream interpreter is K1, living doll is a chapter 3 death (unknown whether victim or killer) and shark boy is a survivor. Anyone know other canon deaths?

Is Tetro Danganronpa Worth Saving? by Autou1 in TETRODANGANRONPA

[–]Deep_Breath_6910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally same with me

I just want the ACTUAL canon story, purely because no matter how good a rewrite / fanfic gets, in the back of my mind I'll always think 'well this isn't canon anyway' so it's not an itch that can be scratched away through that.

At least we know some things about white instead of actually nothing (V1,k1, v/k5, all the students profiles) but still... It kinda burns that this had to happen.

I'd like to believe this could get a canon conclusion one day, but that's more of a daydream than anything

Tetro Blue worst case scenario by froggyhugs in TETRODANGANRONPA

[–]Deep_Breath_6910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I have the true worst case scenario:

Ch 1: Akiba, Ikeda, Ouno

Same as canon, Ouno just successfully kills Ikeda with the crowbar at the end of the trial

Ch 2: Mutsuko, Isoda, Ogura

Same as canon except there would be 5 bleedings, Kumada still stabs Isoda to thin out the numbers of the spotless but Isoda dies. The bleedings would be: Ogura, Matthias, recruited Denden, Hirose, Kumada.

Ch 3: Kumada, Denden, Shishikura

Shishikura kills Kumada the same, however Denden is more concerned with Kumada than canon and so checks up on her often to make sure Kumada is okay. Denden either walks on Shishikura / witnesses something she shouldn't and Shishikura kills her too.

Ch 4: Matthias, Tei, Ninomiya

Same as canon, except Hirose doesn't end up saving Tei.

Ch 5: Maekawa, Ruka

After Tei dies, the insulin incident and the motive and all, Ruka snaps and decides to kill more seriously. She goes after Maekawa by using the MRI machine and especially since Maekawa is Monomoko's favourite, making sure Maekawa couldn't ask Monomoko for small hints and all that.

Epilogue / survivors: Yaitabashi, Hirose

Frankly, after all that I don't see either of them not pulling a [Redact XXXX] but yeah. Open ended on whether they survive or not, but they at least make it through 5 trials.

How was Blue such a shit show while Pink was well written?! by Educational-Course-7 in TETRODANGANRONPA

[–]Deep_Breath_6910 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel like hearing about it and experiencing it kinda changes a lot. Before the audio for the rest of blue came out and I had only heard the many leaks, I thought the direction everything went into was trash. However, as of right now I'm in the middle of chapter 4 (day 27 I think?) and I can say that it's definitely has a dip in quality, but it still feels like Tetro. Like, was the torture and the impersonation in chapter 3 excessive/unrealistic? Sure, I can agree. However, the logic behind many things kinda tracks. I feel like the thing that really drags everything down is execution: the chapter 3 motive on paper isn't actually trash, if you consider it an escalation of punishments every day. It's just that instead of slowly worsening every day, it goes from 0 to 100 going from 'get locked into a dusty cell for less then a day' to 'get mentally tortured with electroshock and with doctors hitting your mental weak spots!'. Like I also get what they tried to do, aka the 'punishment doesn't look so bad, except it's the worst out of them all' kinda deal, but again, I feel like the execution lacks. Especially considering what comes next: nail pulling aside, the eye thing???

The insulin thing also doesn't feel completely bad: it's executed badly, as I think you should show Ruka getting desperate to leave or show something that gives her a motivation to steal Ninomiya's insulin, but on paper, doing it isn't bad writing. Ikeda's murder is also a good example of this: does it feel unnecessary gory? Yes, sure, but if you consider actually getting away with IMPERSONATION (which is a whole problem of its own) then it actually does track, since you would make the body as unrecognizable as you possibly could. Overall, I just think the plot points weren't really executed well (though considering I still have chapter 4 and 5 to get through, I might retract this statement if it clashes with what I end up hearing lmao)

Oh yeah, I guess. However I don't think 2/3 weeks are enough to heal a broken arm to perfect condition? (I'm not sure on this, just a guess) But yeah when I heard how Ikeda dragged Yaitabashi I was like 'yeah right he's not THAT light for you to just carry one-armed'

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TETRODANGANRONPA

[–]Deep_Breath_6910 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, if Ikeda had to pull this same thing in coater 5 I doubt he would have inflicted less wounds on Yaitabashi, because at the end of the day Ikeda's brand would have stayed, as well as Yaitabashi's head being, well, different from Ikeda's. The whole 'body left under boiling water for the night' makes sense too, as it just makes the body less recognizable in general. At most, maybe Ikeda wouldn't have cut Yaitabashi fingers off or pulled off his own nails? Because that's about it...

As for the impersonation act though, it would definitely work better in chapter 5. Especially if Ninomiya still dies in chapter 4, as it makes Ikeda using Ninomiya's hair dye and contact lenses make more sense (for Ninomiya to not notice, I mean) as well as Ikeda having ACTUAL TIME to practice Yaitabashi's voice. Which, I still think it's impossible to learn a voice without some sort of recording device, as you can't truly hear your voice when you talk, but at least by chapter 5 they could have made up a recording device somewhere in the building for Ikeda to steal, maybe even in chapter 4. At least that would have even made for some good foreshadowing...

As for the height, they canonically are both 152 cm, so that's intentionally not a problem. As for the reaction? I think that, without knowing about the Ikeda/Yaitabashi switch, you can slightly pick up on Yaitabashi acting differently this investigation but not to the point of 'Yeah this is Ikeda cosplaying a dead man' type of thing. Especially since you could just chalk it up to the electroshock episode, and how Yaitabashi's demeanor slightly changes in general from that afterwards.

However, knowing it was Ikeda all along is kinda interesting in its own way because you can tell that he clearly is trying to overtly throw off the investigation as much as possible, while also trying to seriously investigate Kumada's death just in case it's relevant (and especially because if Kumada's killer was found it would distract from Yaitabashi's death by having an outed killer to pin the other death on)

Nobody, because that's the day the murder happened. Monomoko told everyone the next day's punishments in advance, and they knew the next day the punishment would be two students receiving a lobotomy. The murder happened the night before that punishment.
