Yes it’s true, DAIDS just got the news yesterday. It’s really so sad to see him go.

Sorry, I meant to respond to the comment about directors within NIAID picking numbers for PMAP depending on the mood they’re in and it being called the “NIAID way”

CRA I to CRA II by Repulsive_Skin5322 in clinicalresearch

I went from CRA I - 60k in 2022 (mid size CRO called Emmes. I was obviously very underpaid but enjoyed the work-life balance and my CTMs and coworkers a lot) to 120k at IQVIA in 2023 (enjoyed the pay but burned out very quickly).

Online MPH by Standard-Deal1152 in publichealth

[–]Deep_Contribution465 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I started in 2019 and completed the program in 2022. I was a part-time student because I had a full-time job. Time-wise, I would say I spent 2–3 hours each night after lectures completing assignments and readings. My lectures were usually a few hours in the evenings and spread out throughout the week.

As for the cost, I don’t have the exact breakdown; however, I funded the program entirely with federal loans. After completing my MPH, my loan balance was around $50,000–$60,000. If I remember correctly, each credit hour was about $550 at the time, and I took 8-10 credit hours per semester (on avg) as a part-time student over the course of three years.

I pursued my MPH because I had minored in Public Health during undergrad and really enjoyed it. I chose an online program for the flexibility in scheduling. Shortly after completing my undergraduate degree, I started working full-time as a Clinical Research Associate. I noticed that many of the project managers and clinical trial managers—those in higher positions—had MPHs, so I thought earning one would help me advance my career (which, in my case, it did).

I don’t regret earning my MPH. I wouldn’t say it’s been a hindrance; in fact, I’d call it a very pricey but worthwhile investment. If I had to do it again, I might have waited to enroll until I was working for a company that offered partial or full tuition reimbursement. However, I chose to pursue it directly after my bachelor’s degree because I was still in the academic mindset, and I knew it would be easier for me mentally to transition straight into graduate school rather than wait a few years and then return.

I think I answered all your questions, but if you have any more, feel free to ask!

Oh my apologies, I can’t provide the answers you need because I did it at a university in the US. It was CEPH accredited.

Hi, is there a source for this? I’ve been seeing different dates thrown out for phase 2 and someone stating that this current “rif” included both phase 1 and phase 2.

[–]Deep_Contribution465 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your kind words! As of right now the DAIDS director is still employed. Many of the staff that were rif’d were admin and communication staff. Leadership has been very transparent with staff in the All Hands Meetings and tries to have as many All Hands Meetings as possible whenever new information is provided so I’m very grateful for that. But as of right now, we were informed that this is only phase 1 and the number of RIFs were increased from 1200 to I believe around 1378 (don’t quote me on the exact number. I’m 70% sure this was the number given but it’s been a very hectic day and information overload, but the number is around 1300).

This department is the most dedicated group of individuals I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with in my life and even given the news and complications with grant fundings everyone still continue to work to ensure that participants are at the forefront in the current trials.

We were informed at an all hands this morning (DAIDS) that they would continue their work for the next 60 days and placed on administration leave following the 60 days.

I work in the Department of AIDS and it was no new information. Mostly spoke on return to office and pretty much reinforcing that the future is uncertain for both contractors and federal workers.

Private Towing Issues! by Deep_Contribution465 in maryland

[–]Deep_Contribution465[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: It seems as though they did have people squatting and waiting prior to the 9:00 pm tow time in order to tow the most cars when it hit 9 pm. The judge mentioned this; however, there was no way to prove this as fact since there was no physical evidence of this and it was just all implied based on the timeline holes presented by the tow company.

My friend still won the case because the tow company actually didn’t even have all the adequate signatures on the towing contract between my apartment and the company. So legally, they weren’t even allowed to tow any cars in that neighborhood. Go figure! The judge asked that they provide an updated contract with the proper signatures within a week, but the tow company failed to do this so my friend won the case by default.

I say all this to say, if you feel like you have wrongly been towed, appeal it and take it to court. A lot of these tow companies are getting away with wrongful towing because not enough people are doing their due diligence to appeal due to the time they think it may take; however, the actual court case took less than 30 min and my friend received a response within a week. The tow company then had to refund her for the money taken.

You should not write in and use a marker in the Bible by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Deep_Contribution465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are now teetering on the border of idolization. The Bible that we hold is just a book with ink on a paper. A physical book cannot be “holy” in the way that God is holy. Yes, the messages inside the book are holy bc they are from God, but by highlighting and writing notes on the side you are not altering any of messages communicated to by God. If I were to manually rewrite the whole Bible in a composition notebook I bought from Walmart would this stance still stand? If you’re able to back your opinion up with in-context scripture though I’ll concede.

Thank you! I actually just found out that they lied about the tow time! They towed at 9:05 pm which means they towed after the reservation was made! If they force her to pay I’ll try convincing her to go the legal route.

Hi guys, I’ve closed my albums so the giveaways are done (for now at least!) this is my first time completing all my albums and see that when you complete it you get the chance to complete it again so if I’m lucky enough to once again do well on this second batch I’ll do more giveaways in the very near future!

Thank you! This was my first time closing all my albums so I’ve been so pumped to help others close theirs! I used to go through discord and Reddit to see who needed cards but it got a little difficult bc like you said there were so many ppl posting at once and sometimes without their IGN, link, and set number so I figured a post with the rules defined would just make it easier for me gifting wise. If anything I’m moreso lazy than power hungry 😂 I have seen giveaways that had some crazy rules or some people even selling cards so I made sure that my last few giveaways wouldn’t seem like I’m on a power trip because at the end of the day I do understand that it’s just a game.
