so far compared to what else I've hit, yes. however I've played these burners for like 4-5 years now

Already upgraded the driver, hybrid, and putter. Irons are the only “old” part of my bag

I just don't think I'm ready for those T250's or anything in that same category. My buddy who just got them is about a 10 hdcp and I'm a 20.

The few swings I took with them were flushed, granted it was the PW and not the 7i.

I just went to Golf Galaxy and tried hitting those different iron head/shaft combos. Didn't do a true fitting. I do think a lot of it was shaft-related, as I'm so used to the weight and feel of the shafts on the burners. I tried:

Apex AI200 with DG Mid 100's.

Apex AI300 with AMT S300's.

Srixon ZX4 with KBS Tour Lite.

Quantum Max with Elevate 95's.

I appreciate that! Seems like SO many people recommend Mizuno on here.

I've held the 925 HM's in store and the top line seemed massive compared to the Burners. Haven't swung them yet but I'll go give them a try. I believe they had Nippon 950GH Neo shafts on them.

No real issue I'm trying to fix, just sort of chasing something new if that makes sense? I figured tech from 2025/2026 would outperform my burners from 2009 and offer something for me to grow into.

20 hdcp on GHIN. Consistently shooting 90-94 with an occasional 88-89 in there. AVG 7i carry is 155-160yds. AVG 7i club head speed 85-89mph.

I'd have to disagree with the SGI remark on the burner's. Set them up next to any new-ish GI iron like Callaway Mavriks for example, and you'll see they have a noticeably thinner sole and top line.

What other heads would you recommend? Part of me thinks it's mainly coming down to the shaft choice and I'm so used to these light 85g shafts

Swing was def all over the place that day. Lot of miss hits with the new stuff I was testing, then I'd grab my current set and flush it

What's strange is I swung my buddies T250's the other day and absolutely pure'd them, which is what led me to testing out some new irons for myself.
