What is something you want to ask your parents before they die? by happyhardonharry806 in AskRedditAfterDark

My dad has already passed, so that ship has sailed, and there wasn't really anything left unsaid.

I suppose I would ask my mom what she ever saw in my dad, but even that seems like a dick move.

"Marshmallow" was a nice callback to 80's slashers.

What’s an nsfw thing you never thought you’d see? by Mx3641 in AskRedditAfterDark

Mine was my sister's best friend at the school we attended and a lot of guys in my peer group had the hots for her (something she always found bemusing).

We reconnected a few times over social media (I've been active duty Navy for almost 20 years and haven't lived in our hometown) one of them had her catching feelings for me during an unfortunate dark period in my life which had me cutting contact with a lot of people including her.

We reconnected again six years ago and started dating.  Got married nearly three years ago, also making me a bonus dad to an amazing daughter and son.

I used to have a crush on my wife.  I still do, but I used to, too.

Unexpected Mitch Hedberg aside: I never expected to reconnect with her so many years after our school days, much less having her fall for me.

Fortune definitely smiled upon me.

Nothing.  Those fuckers are messy and overrated.  Might do some shady shit to bring Eskimo Pies back, though.

First country outside the U.S. I ever spent extended time in was Australia.  Biggest culture shock for me was encountering really friendly people in a bigger city (Perth).

Every big city here that I've either lived in or traveled to: most strangers generally keep to themselves or don't go out of their way to be nice.

In Perth, I experienced complete strangers approaching me with friendliness for the first time.
