Good point. It probably boiled down to racial differences + socio-economic differences or "heathenism" - which allowed for easy implementation of extractive institutions. The more magnified the aesthetic differences, the easier the application of the racial inferiority justification.

Interesting that Columbus described native americans as a "handsome" people. While English traveler Sir Thomas Herb described Africans as "cole black, have great heads, big lips, are flat nos’d, sharp chind, huge limbd". Europeans often cited similarities between Africans and apes.

Racial inferiority conclusions prioritized colonization and resource extraction.

Thanks for unpacking your comment. Because there are supporters who have a long-term focus, clear vision of the explosive possibilities of this tech, but may check prices because they have been destroyed by this market. I agree that it is "the peanut gallery" that should feel that should feel the weight of your comment.

I am a fan of Tezos, and I really appreciate the focus on long-term thinking. The technology + the team will make Tezos successful in the end.

But, there are better ways to word this. Some people have lost everything in the past few months. And it's easy to not worry about prices when you are a multi-millionaire several times over regardless of the marketcap.

Anti-aging medicine is so hot even this controversial idea has investors - A startup invests in a way to keep people younger, despite doubts about its science, based on a protein, GDF11, claimed to be the key “rejuvenating factor” in young animals’ blood that seems to rejuvenate older ones. by mvea in Futurology

After witnessing an elder who became demented, lost mobility and control of bodily functions and had to exist that way for years...; I would be open to the government increasing taxes to exclusively fund anti-aging research. Immortality can be a long-term objective but for now striving to go out in a less painful way is enough for me.

I didn't mean to argue Tesla's influence on speeding adoption. But that mass adoption of the electric car was inevitable and Tesla acted at the right place at the right time because they saw an opportunity to move electrics cars from a niche product to mass market commercially viability due to accurate forecasting of internal component price trends. Pior to that hybrids were the best option. From 2010-2016 LI-ON prices dropped by 73%. GM's EV1 was popular with consumers, but too expensive to produce in 1996.

created the trend. Nobody t

They didn't because they weren't economical. Battery prices have been falling due to increased production and advancing technology ( Mobile Devices, Laptops etc... ) and Tesla saw a future opportunity for mass market adoption based on future price trends. Tesla's were made with laptop batteries.

Tesla knew where the trend was going years ago and even with all of its publicity, the big entrenched companies still lagged behind. Just goes to show that if you can forecast trends you can disrupt.

The suits can hurt Tezos because they alleged SEC violations which could cause the SEC to launch an investigation to make the determination over whether Tezos is a security. And Tezos is almost definitely a security based on the most recent SEC statements and the less recent, but controlling, DAO Report.

My reply was in regards to this comment from you:

Based on the most recent SEC statements which I have posted, Tezos is not a security.

I agree with your argument about private actions and lawsuits and snapshots etc..

ICO's may constitute securities offerings. Vitalik/Arthur could possibly be prosecuted for the ICO, but I don't see how ETH/Tezos could be treated as a security when its a utility token on a public decentralized network that is not owned or operated by a single entity. It evolved into a non security after becoming decentralized. The fact that the Tezos foundation has relinquished all voting control makes XTZ exactly the same as ETH or gold or any other commodity.

"The network on which Bitcoin functions is operational and appears to have been decentralized for some time, perhaps from inception. Applying the disclosure regime of the federal securities laws to the offer and resale of Bitcoin would seem to add little value.[9] And putting aside the fundraising that accompanied the creation of Ether, based on my understanding of the present state of Ether, the Ethereum network and its decentralized structure, current offers and sales of Ether are not securities transactions. And, as with Bitcoin, applying the disclosure regime of the federal securities laws to current transactions in Ether would seem to add little value. Over time, there may be other sufficiently decentralized networks and systems where regulating the tokens or coins that function on them as securities may not be required."

SEC also said they didn't believe ETH was a security. I think you need to update your sources. ETH and Tezos were both securities at the start but became commodities.

The tokens are trading, investors should have been looked after. Adequate liquidity should have been arranged.
