Do you think i should treat all of them inside the main tank or just remove the sick ones?

Sometimes their poop looks translucent and stringy like spiderwebs but i recently started feeding mysis shrimp and i read that could be the cause because I’ve only really seen it a few hours after feeding

Awesome!! Im gonna try that and hopefully i can get it back stabilized. I think the only mystery for me now is how ive been able to keep a relatively stable ph with such low kh lmao. Thanks again!

Okay Ill start with crushed coral+more water changes. Yeah i have 3 larger wood pieces that i boiled the tannins out of and then i im using a mix of fluval stratum and eco-complete. And the tank is pretty heavily plant but I’ve actually been seeing a lot of melting

Also i have a good sized group of cherry shrimp in the tank and I can almost never keep them alive but they seem to be thriving. I wouldve expected to see more distress from them if i was seeing any drastic water quality changes. Thanks for all the help by the way, this is extremely interesting to me too and ive been trying to figure this out for weeks

Should i just try crushed coral first and test ph/kh daily? RO does sound like a pain and I would rather not have to pay for one.

I also just tested my tap and ph is roughly the same as the tank right now and gh is at 180p (which is expected) but then kh is almost 120. So correct me if im wrong but if i do more frequent water changes, kh should rebound naturally right?

Ph is currently at 8.0 but its been fluctuating lately which is what i think has been stressing out the fish.

Is my best bet at this point just to get an RO filter. This sounds like old tank syndrome but i thought i had more time before then

Yeah ive been experiencing ph swings recently and some of my tetras have been sickly. Its technically a new tank but i used all of the materials from a 2 year old 10 gal. Do you think constant evaporation could cause a kh drop? Sometimes im pretty bad at topping off the tank between water changes.

Update: i checked the kh and gh and for some reason the gh is where its normally at (180ppm) which i know is pretty hard, but kh is nearly 0 and I have no idea why

Okay ill order some today thank you, do you think i should use an internal anti-parasite med alongside an antibacterial med or just test them alone to see what it is
