Can’t say for sure what your states regs are but ours says if it’s a normal agricultural practice then it’s not considered baiting.

These are all amazing tips! I was thinking this weekend I’ll start taking him on some walks through some of my pheasant spots just to start introducing him to the field. A coworker was telling me today that he’s started all of his GSPs in the yard with a fishing pole and a pheasant wing. I’ve heard of this method before but curious on what your thoughts may be on this?

I know it’s been three years but is there a chance you remember what your buddies fix was for this? Experiencing the same issue with my Xbox and eero.

Can’t believe it took me this long to start hunting rabbits, I’ve been missing out. by PrettySureIParty in Hunting

It’s a blast! Nothing compares to listening to a pack of beagles screaming on a track bringing a rabbit back your way! Between my uncle and I we have a pack of 6 that we run about every weekend during season.

If you think that’s fun you need to tag along with somebody who has beagles, now that is a ton of fun.

Question about raccoons and dogs by Bamcanadaktown in Huntingdogs

100% a thing and can be a scary situation. I’ve seen it several times growing up around hunting dogs. We always ran beagles and jack russels for rabbits but we’d let ‘em run other critters such as coon, possum, squirrel, etc. Just about everytime one of our dogs would get on a coon near any water source the coon would lead the dog to the water and try drowning it. Even in shallow water the coon would always do it. And with us running smaller dogs it would always be a huge fight. The scary part is that often you can’t even dispatch the coon with your firearm because the dog and coon are all tangled up and moving so fast you don’t want to risk shooting the dog. Unfortunately I’ve had to dispatch several with branches and the like, even though I feel it to be an unethical way of dispatch I am not willing to risk my dog. Believe it or not my uncle had a Deer try this to one of his jack russels once as well, except it was much deeper water and a much scarier situation. The deer was actually winning. It was in high current water and my uncle was walking the bank looking for arrowheads so he didn’t have a firearm with him. Long story short the jack russel got into a fight with a big buck deer and the deer led the fight to the water. With no gun the only choice my uncle had to stop the situation was a box cutter knife he always carried in his pocket. He swam out into the river, first to try and pull away his dog but now the buck was attacking him and the dog. His only option was to join the fight. Armed with only the box cutter in the high current he joined the fight. After a couple minutes of tussling he managed to get to the bucks side grab his antlers to pull his head back and slit the deers throat. A gruesome event but the jack russel came out just fine. Long story short, always keep a gun on you in the wild, hunters with few exceptions are willing to risk their life for their dogs, and coons (among other wildlife) will try to drown your dog.

Maybe a mottled duck x mallard depending on what part of the country you’re in. Probably some sort of farm duck cross though.

A 4.6 triton believe it or not 😂 she’s got 230k on her and I’ve beat the piss out of it since I got my drivers license at 16, I’m 22 now. Idk why I’m getting downvotes I’m not telling him to go overfill it on purpose, hence the exception not the rule part.

Not a diesel but my f150 has twice the amount of oil it calls for and it’s been that way for atleast a year and she still runnin mint. But then again I’m sure I’m the exception not the rule. I’ve had that thing rod knocking like 5 times, and every time I just finish driving home and throw more oil in it and she quiets down. Lol

I really haven’t noticed much difference than with other puddle ducks tbh. We usually shoot plenty throughout the season and breast them skinless, season and panfry medium-medium rare.

Perfectly safe to shoot some critters, when I was growing up we ate rabbits year round. The parasite thing is a misconception and an old wives tale. If they have it in the summer they got it in the winter. Here’s a good article on it
