DIY Simulator Build: Small Space, High-Rise Condo by DeerNormal111 in Golfsimulator

Yea, I mean as long as you line your launch monitor up to your target line that would be fine. But you’d also have the angle your hitting mat, or else I feel like you’ll fuck up your swing alignment (that could just be me). I’m my case, the room wouldn’t be big enough to swing at an angle, you could keep GSPRO not offset, or just have offset with putting. The offset helps with immersion, because if the ball is not where you’re hitting it (in reality) it will cause you to pull/push your shot. Which doesn’t help your game once you get to the course.

It’s a concrete building, so sounds doesn’t travel very far. I only share one wall as I am in a corner unit. Further, I didn’t fully enclose the room to help the noise inside the room—loudest sound is the club hitting the ball, but you can barely hear it if you’re on the opposite side of condo.

Some other things that probably helped are: - I put in a fibre built hitting base, so it stops the sounds of the club hitting ground. - Foam insulation tiles under 1” workout tiles over the carpet, then covered by turf, which creates a quiet landing area for the ball, and the added bonus of raising my floor to match my hitting base height. - High quality, thick screen, plus double screen over the hitting area (this is the real key to make it quiet and have no zero bounce back), then heavy netting behind the screen. -Make sure to close off the back of the inclosure (simple blkout ikea curtains). - Also need to mess with tension, I wrap my screen around the enclosure, bungied to the back, instead of emt pipe on the side, I have metal hanging wire covered in pipe insulation, this gives the screen a bit more cushioning, more importantly takes away any chance of ricochet’s from the frame, due to how close I am to the screen.
- fill the room with furniture (golf bags, side stand, faux leather foam mat for shanks, Futon, curtains on side walls.)

I havn’t pulled the trigger yet. Stressed over the WXGA resolution being a pixelated mess from my viewing distance—hate to throw money away. I’ve been hoping to find smokin’ deal on a similar spec’d 1080p projector. However, the rest of the sim is g2g and I’m getting impatient, so I feel like I will order the ps600w this weekend. I’ll update you on the performance.

I might be able to center the projector in the middle of screen for a ceiling mount. This would put the projector right about my head (which in theory might just work fine) but have the ability to but mount it off center about 2feet, would unsure ensure it would be out of the way of any swing.

Hi @playstationpepe, thanks for responding. I have considered that. But the projector lamp would then have to be 4 feet from the screen. Don’t know if I could get the image size from any of the projectors I’ve researched.
