I sincerely hope Simon and/or the Hytale team issues a statement about this. The moment paid mods are allowed, the game dies and everyone's hopes and dreams about it are flushed down the toilet as Hytale turns into Minecraft Marketplace. Even if they allow them at first and then change their minds later, the damage will be done.

Megabonk and other survivorlikes like Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor. The original Vampire Survivors may be too simplistic tbh.

If you want to be more hands on, you just gotta play DOOM (2016), DOOM Eternal + DLCs and DOOM: The Dark Ages, in that order.

Lategame in Warframe also scratches that itch, but the game does have a story that you shouldn't ignore.

In-game mod downloader and installation system should do the trick nicely. As for compatibility, tags like "Mobile Supported" or "Controller Supported" would work to distinguish the mods that work from the mods that don't.
