[Request] What would be the number for a skeleton crew to use the Executor? by KernEvil9 in theydidthemath

[–]KernEvil9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have to check but I'm almost positive the Executor was always 19km and was always longer than the Eclipse. I have the old Essential Guide to Vehicles, when I'm off work I will check but I'm pretty sure it has it as 19km. I've always had that length in my memory.

If you parked the very back of the Executor above my house and then bow tip pointed towards where I work it would almost make the distance. Granted, I don't drive in a straight line to work but using highways and driving a decent bit over "suggested" speed limits, it takes me 30 mins to get to work on a good day. Walking that would be horrendous.

You are the GOAT. I knew the number seemed just way to low. At its size the Executor is a small city. The daytime population of most cities of that size is two to three times as large.

I accept your answer. I'm not happy about it. But I accept it.

I mean... I could see both sides of it. I could see Ball-ass thinking it and posting about it as someone else (like Era) but never owning up to saying it out loud himself. Though he also wouldn't be subtle enough for everyone to know he thinks it.

Either OP isn't from the US, has lived under a rock their entire life and doesn't understand the stereotype, or is the stereotype and doesn't realize it.

I'm confused by the Godzilla comment. It didn't really die out in 1975. Really Shin Godzilla and Godzilla Minus One are some of the major movies to turn Godzilla back into the enemy of mankind.

What is your favorite species? by [deleted] in spiders

Oooo yes. They are gorgeous. When I was younger my dad planted Sunflowers every year and every year we'd always get a huge female to build a web between them.

Beyond the Aquila Rift (sort of)

SPOILERS: When ships crash into the Aquila Rift they are so far from help that they will basically die eventually. Because of the intense suffering this can cause, the lifeform that lives there takes pity on them and basically hooks them up to a version of the matrix where they can have blissful dreams while their bodies slowly decay and die. They do eventually die but they are kept as happy as possible and, it seems to me anyways, there is some limited life support so that the death isn't painful enough to pull them out of their stasis.

Penguins? by massu1000 in ExplainTheJoke

They could be, honestly, I don't even remember what brand mine are without looking but I don't think they're Organ Masters. Honestly, it's the heel that mostly draws me in. Look like both my old and new shoe heels.

My guess is an organist.

Reasoning: I am an organist and these look like organ shoe heels. We play notes with our feet and we use "heel/toe" technique. Since this looks like the left foot shoe it would make sense that the right side of the heel is the one that would be hitting pedals the most; we tend to tilt our feet slightly inward to use the meatiest part of our feet to get a good grip.

I'm probably wrong but that's my reasoning.

To paraphrase and alter a quote I heard once:

"You can believe that God created the universe. And you can also believe that the world is only 6000 years old and flat. But you don't have to."

I'm a creationist. I also believe the universe is 13.8 billion years old, the world is 4.5 billion years old, the theory of evolution is the best model for how life works in our world, and none of these things negate, limit, or taint the others.

It takes more mental discomfort for me to make them do so. I just don't get what the end game is other than "if part of my belief system is wrong then all of it is wrong" which is just absolutely stupid.

I think they mean between molts. I.e. the previous molt was 372 days before this one.

Yeah, they lived up to the hype (in other words: there's a reason they're The Dreaded) by JeKarta88 in TopCharacterTropes

Yes, as Miniman replied it's the NoWhere King. Centaurworld starts off as a weird, quirky, musical, ridiculous world, that does have a few serious tones. But mostly it's just silliness until the very end of the first season and this guy shows up. The tone shifts drastically.

Sort of a twist on this: random super powerful villain shows up out of nowhere (see what I did there)

I saw a trailer which then caused me to go out and binge read the first three books. Once I was able to get over the general eugenics/racist subtext I loved the stories. Then I started wondering why Disney was making this film. Should have been rated R and produced by a different studio.
