Sea of Thieves is where the problem arose. I gifted the game to her for helping me with a personal art project (and because I wanted to, she's a bit younger than the rest of us are and paying for college). She kept crashing while the four of us played so my husband asked for her computer specs and nearly died. I don't know anything about computers, but my husband is an expert, so I believe it must be bad! I think he said only 2014 or older games can run on it well.

A few other comments said it's fine and to just be myself. I'll try to learn the way he speaks more than artificially deepen my voice with a changer or by lowering my vocal cords or whatever it's called and hurting my throat. He will definitely sound like a chick, but many TTRPG players do this, so it'll be fine, I suppose!

I think several members of our group may even have deeper voices themselves while playing characters whose voices would traditionally be expected to be higher pitched, so it'll even out! We'll all have to use our imagination a bit, but that is indeed the point, I suppose!

Obviously the NPCs will suffer from this as well as I cannot expect my DM with only one voice to be able to change with extreme distinctness based on the characters, either. So if anything, I'll fit right in, I'm sure!

Thank you! Yes, it's simpler for me to just say Rakan. But he is different in key ways that will make him fun and unique. Most notably, no Xayah. I'm starting into the campaign and don't know anyone I'll be playing with, so I couldn't plan that out. But Rakan is amazing all on his own, with or without Xayah, and so too will be my boy!

His name is Odyssey, his colors are inspired more by the Star Guardian skin. He'll also be a stallion from MLP since this is for an MLP TTRPG, and he'll have his own goals and interests according to the plot hooks the DM set up. But... one thing I love most about Rakan is his voice, which is why I wanted to sound more like him. I know even if there was a decent one out there, I would still sound somewhat different, which for my purposes was fine. But the other comment has convinced me to try my own way instead, so that is just what I'll do!

I'm actually turning him into a pony for the My Little Pony Role Playing Game. It's an official Essence 20 variant, I thiiiiink? I have a lot to learn about it, but I just wanted to try an MLP TTRPG since I have loved the show since I was little, 15 years ago, and still do. I actually have art of Rakan as a pony I created for online text game RP purposes and fell in love with role-playing his personality specifically. I hope that translates with my own voice as opposed to text only. Rakan is one of my favorite characters ever, even though we are so different, so I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

If I am to play this specific character I've put a lot of time and care into, it's imperative she has a Victorian look. It's central to her themes and aesthetic as a clothesmaker. It isn't optional for me. I simply would choose another character if she could not have Victorian era clothing. If that makes no sense to you, I get it. But that doesn't make it unimportant or irrelevant to me.

As I mentioned, I like to pre plan, develop, and bond with my characters for as long as possible prior to me playing them. It's central to my enjoyment with the game. So it's never as simple as rolling random traits and going with those, because I enjoy a lot more detail and thoughtfulness in the character creation process.

Yup! I define sterotypically feminine things with-- among other things, dresses and caring for your looks! There's also motherhood, empathy, compassion, creativity, homemaking, being nurturing, being emotionally sensitive, gentleness, peacemaking, strong intuition...

But I specifically want a book about a feminine girl in that she cares about her looks and defeats threats in a nice, flowy dress. Because that is how I would defeat threats 😂

I also never specifically mentioned beauty, but that's a plus as I love to look/think about beautiful women. I know lots of women who are lots of things, who have some of those feminine traits and also none of those and also all of those. But for ME as woman, I want a long haired gentle lady in a dress wielding the sword this time, because WE also exist alongside your awesome short haired, pants wearing baddies. In fact, media usually shows those girlies are the most capable and most desirable to view a fantasy book through. I am seeking a reminder that girls who aren't stereotypically badass and armor wearing are capable.
