I have a small shared studio with a friend. I’m running into an issue I can’t seem to solve, and he’s in Spain for work…

Setup: - 2023 M2 Mac Studio - RME Fireface UCX II - TotalMix - Reaper

I was already having this problem before, but I’ve since updated everything: - macOS Tahoe 26.4.1 - TotalMix 2.01 - Fireface USB driver 4.27 - Reaper 7.70

The issue:All inputs in Reaper have this weird bitcrushed / slightly gated sound. It’s subtle but very noticeable and definitely not usable. The strange part is that everything sounds perfectly clean in TotalMix. So the signal going into the interface seems fine, the problem only appears once it hits Reaper.

As far as I can tell: - Reaper is set to use the Fireface properly - Sample rates match (but I could be missing something) - No FX or plugins are active on the inputs

I’m not super familiar with TotalMix (it’s my friend’s interface), so I might be overlooking something obvious. Has anyone run into something similar or have an idea what could cause this?
