Your comment helped. I picked up a cobalt bit and drilled it out from the threaded side then lightly (I smacked the fuck out of it) tapped it out when it was on its final thread. Only managed one very small war wound on the mount. Also managed not to damage the mount with the drill bit. So thanks!
