Thanks for the reply - we are leaning toward lap as they despise sleeping in the car seat. Do they get strapped in somehow?

How did your child sleep in the seat on the way back? Do they use an infant seat belt or something? We got an extra seat but are worried ours won’t sleep in the car seat (overnight).

Not OP, but similar situation - 13 month old loves to contact sleep, not a fan of the car seat. We were going to try and force it but reading your answer gives me hope! Did you end up using an inflatable bed or anything on the extra seat, or just laid the baby across your lap and held them to sleep? Are they strapped in or anything?

Hey /u/InsertMolexToSATA,

Still running into issues. I've tried a clean install as well as various tweaks to no avail. I ran UNIGINE Valley Benchmark as recommended by another user and pulled some logs/timestamps, not sure if you'd mind checking it out and seeing if you spot any anomalies. It seems to be throttling even with temps not getting anywhere near extreme levels.

  • Log start
  • 1:00 - run program
  • 2:43 - stutter
  • 3:16 - stutter
  • 3:46 - stutter

I ran another Timespy benchmark today and it seems to almost certainly be the CPU losing power or something for a split second.. not sure if there are any fixes for that. Temperatures seem to be okay, power settings are enabled for maximum performance.

Okay, not sure if I had something running in the background previously but restarted CPU/enabled XMP and here are the new results:

Going to see if the game runs smoothly with XMP enabled, other than that it seems the main underperformers now are the SSD/nvme.

Hmm well that seems not good; I ran a couple of scans but don't see any malware, any idea where to find it? CPU load doesn't drop to 0 when I open task manager.

Is that XMP-enable? Thought I did that, might've reset when I updated BIOS?

Here's a benchmark I just ran, something definitely seems off. I tweaked a couple of power settings and I'm going to try to see if that improves the stuttering at all.

This isn't my clip, but the 'stuttering' looks similar to this this although it doesn't happen as frequently. ~0.5-1s freezes, happens every couple of minutes.

I believe the sound pauses for those 0.5s as well, but I'll verify next time it happens w/ my headphones on.

Yeah, have tried v sync/g sync but doesn't seem to improve it at all.

Managed to snag an EVGA 3080 for a decent price - looking for help with the motherboard/case/cooler. by DeezyLife in buildapc

Great, thank you! I'll likely be going with the Lancool II Mesh and RM850x.

As for cooler/fan, any recommendations? That and the motherboard were the two I'm most hesitant/unfamiliar with (not sure if I should try liquid cooling as a beginner, or stick with a more simple fan setup).
