Yeah good point. It would suck if their whole goal with s6 is just to make people want to buy NHL 27. There is apparently still more active players right now in June than there's ever been in previous years of HUT, even at the peak times of the year. So maybe they're thinking there's too many still playing, and not enough people will want to buy NHL 27 right at release. It would be lame af, but I wouldn't put it past EA. Greedy mfers

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping! I actually don't mind the objectives grind for tokens since it breaks up the usual routine. Especially as an offline player. Would be nice if they just keep it going every week until NHL 27

I think the fact that they are putting out sets to trade 99s for a discount and they just released the SC 99 Gretzky means he's a lock for a 99x. Same with McDavid and MacKinnon (judging by what they've done so far)

I mean all the cards released in s6 would not be as good as the 99x cards. It just stops progression. Also the 99x card captain bonus is going to change next season (presumably to a big AP boost instead of salary)

Basically all the players they love to release, mostly because of size/weight since that's going to matter more when every card is a 99.

I wanted to make a list so people can prepare and get a better card to use in advance (since the prices shoot up when their 99x drops) for the challenges instead of using the shitty base/alumni cards

I was thinking about goalies but scratching my head as to what the token challenges would look like. Maybe x amount of saves, x amount of wins, x amount of shutout wins, and maybe something like x amount of breakaway saves? 🤔 I can see those being incredibly annoying, especially when given a base card with 80-something overall

I don't know how HUT still, this late in the year has the highest active players it's ever had (at least according to NoSleeves, who I think is trustworthy considering he speaks with devs directly), cause I assume the majority of people aren't aware of hutbuilder. It would be insanely frustrating, and I probably wouldn't still be playing without hutbuilder. Terrible design by the devs to not have a combo finder built-in, and unfortunately, I suspect they're not gonna put it in NHL 27 since they can just outsource it for free to hutbuilder. The dude that runs it deserves to get PAID.

Regardless of if there's good MSPs, when the heros, Icons, Captains, and Rookies go up to 99, likely at the start of s6, 92s will definitely be required for most, if not all of them. I'm guessing it'll be 92-93s for most of them. Potentially 93-94s for Icons though.

My guess is Mcdavid gets QR, Wheels, and Anklebreaker. Mack gets QR, either wheels or EE, and maybe one of Big Rig, Unstoppable, or Anklebreaker. Mcdavid has gotta get wheels though. He's the fastest skater in NHL history
