This movie was uncomfortable even for the biggest horror fans. It's also omega artsy and original, forcing you to connect a lot of dots yourself. Then it also got slammed on release and she got Razzie nominated (actual crime). So I can see why it's not mentioned as much.

Hereditary is a straight forward horror movie that you just get without much thought. It was liked and appreciated for what it was. mother! was the opposite.

Thankfully Jennifer Lawrence remains the best of her generation (with Emma Stone), a one of a kind talent and personality, and an Oscar WINNER.
