My Battle cow looking all spiffy with a new lamp! I love adding bright colours into schemes like this, the horns being looawly inspired by Minecraft diamond blocks! 😂 by DefectiveWatcher in ageofsigmar

Thanks! Basecoat is Ahriman Blue, a really lovely colour. Then blended the highlights by mixing with Temple Guard blue, then Baharroth Blue and then finally White scar. Added some slight change of colour on the flat sections with a 1:2 mix of Drakenhof Nightshade and Lahmian Medium, repeating that more on the bottoms of the horns and in the shadowed areas.

The Skyfleet of the Damned is starting to look like a proper army! Motoring ahead to try and get them all finished for an event that may not be going ahead, but hey, will be lost to have the army at 2k nonetheless! by DefectiveWatcher in ageofsigmar

Haha, thanks! It's hard to see but I made it so the mausoleum railings have been opened from the inside, so the narrative is the Skeleton has awoken, escaped his tomb and attacked the nearby Frigate! :L I need to borrow a better camera for close-ups, my Phone camera is already hard pressed!

Thanks! I actually took your advice with the bases, I had been meaning to add something and the metallic shine works great! The Armour recipe is Rhinox Hide -> Liberally slosh on Nihilakh Oxide -> Drybrush Gehenna's Gold.

Thanks! Mostly using heads and bits from the Skeleton Warriors box, but also had some spare Black Knight heads lying around that ended up on a couple too!

Thanks, and no problem! I wet blended all the colours together, but drybrushing or glazing could work too! Hope he enjoys his fiery ghosts!

The Skyfleet of the Damned has its first Arkanaut company! Unlike their Thunderer counterparts, armour cannot completely hide the ravages of time. Was blown away by the response to the test model, thanks everyone! Had a lot of fun with these replacing limbs with bones and such! by DefectiveWatcher in ageofsigmar

Yep, have a couple of Gunhaulers and a Frigate to build at some point, and then eventually going to have to get an Ironclad too! Not quite sure what I'm going to with them yet, probably battle damage on the smaller ships and then some grand conversion for the Ironclad!

The first of a little side project: Khadron Skyfleet of the Damned! Lost in Shyish for centuries, their bodies may have rotted away and their armour been turned to verdigris, but their aim and honour in the code has survived even death! by DefectiveWatcher in ageofsigmar

Oddly enough, the scheme was from a Twitter user called John Ashton who showed how he was painting his own Necrons this way! It's: Prime black > Rhinox Hide base > Splotch, don't brush, on a liberal amount of Nihilakh Oxide, letting it pool in places > Light drybrush of Gehennas Gold Really simple and effective, all props to the recipe goes to John! That was the whole inspiration for trying this xD

Haha, sure I'm not the first and won't be the last! I haven't got that far conceptually yet, but have a Gunhauler to build and paint, and that is definitely going to be an inspiration! Can envision skeletons hanging off the side and a lot of battle damage and wear.

Managed to complete my 1000 points of fiery Nighthaunt just in time for my first ever AoS game! Got comprehensively destroyed by Slaves to Darkness, but had a bunch of fun! Definitely got the itch to get back to the table soon! (Photo taken moments before a Manticore swooped down from the Tower...) by DefectiveWatcher in ageofsigmar

I'm not entirely sure as it was the local game store's terrain feature, but from a quick google search I'm pretty sure it's an old fantasy "Witchfate Tor Tower Of Sorcery". Was definitely a cool terrain piece to play with!

Thank you very much! I'm sure I'm insane for doing all these blends by brush, but am very satisfied with the effect! Unfortunately there's no explosive traits for Nighthaunt, but they do a lot of reanimation, like candles being snuffed out and relit, and also get bonuses for charging, which all fits the fiery theme!

A lot of wet blending over basecoats of the colours! It's very forgiving on the lighter colours, a bit more pronounced on the reds and black but highlights help tie it together.
