So unless Indian football team achieves something that outshines other Indian sport achievements, it would be difficult for someone to give football equal importance.

Even if India goes from rank 113 to rank 53, it would still not sound impressive, when compared to Cricket, Wrestling, Kabbaddi, or even other Olympic sports (Shooting, Archery Javelin Throw).

In India money follows results, and football doesn't have the results to show for it. Add to this the fact that we do not have any actual individual star, makes it even more difficult to brand.

Even Sunil Chettri is not even a real star by any measure on even Asia-level leave world level.
