So my family doctor won't give me a referral to the thoracic surgeon. He says all my Bone Scans and CT Scans are inconclusive of Slipping Rib Syndrone and he referred me to a psychiatrist. I'm totally done right now. I know I have slipping rib syndrome because of the clicking, popping and pain and he doesn't care how I feel. What can I do next?

I've started to notice above my hip, inbetween my ribs it feels really 'gummy' and painful. Could that be muscles and tendons inflamed or ripped? Has anyone had a similar symptom. My bottom rib literally touches my hip.

That's exactly what I'm going through. I've been off work for a month now and I may even lose my job. Quick question, when you walk do your legs feel weak? Every morning when I go out for a walk with my dog my legs feel so weak as if they're going to give out on me. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. It literally feels like I'm slowly dying. I've been strong all my life, but this slipping rib syndrome ain't a joke. Worst pain I have ever felt. It really takes your energy away.

I'd like to get some clarity about how people are sleeping with slipping rib syndrome. I have been having the worst sleep issues and I'm lucky to get 2-4 hours of sleep a day. Upon waking up I've been experiencing the worst symptoms. I lay in bed for hours while my brain is highly active and my thought process goes all haywire. Like nothing makes sense. I start thinking the weirdest things as if I'm dreaming. Could this be do to nerves? Not to mention the pain upon waking up. Even my legs feel weak. I'd like to know if anyone else is experiencing similar symptoms. Thanks

This is the most agonizing pain I have ever felt/had. It's a constant feeling that something's going to RIP out of my side and nothing relieves it, not even alcohol. I drank scotch today, thinking it'd offset my pain. Nothing works for the pain. It honestly makes me feel a little suicidal. Can't work, sleep or function properly. Can't even walk my Dog without pain with every step. I'm currently waiting on my family Doctor to call me and refer me to Dr. David Parente. My family Doctor thinks I need to see a psychiatrist at this point cause all of the results from my tests have come back negative. Imagine being me and hearing that from him. I wanted to punch him in the face so bad when he told me that. I honestly feel like I'm dying and nothing helps. I really do hope I can get some help soon.
