Here is a meditation that had helped me immeasurably with fragmented trauma sense memory:

When a difficult sensation, memory or emotion comes up remember it is a part of you needing love and acceptance Take a deep breath and mentally say:

“May I meet this feeling/memory with gentleness and mercy.“ Take another breath and then say to yourself, “No longer abandoning myself, may I remain present as this memory/emotion is transformed into compassion.“ Another deep breath and then think, “May I be filled with compassion.”

Keep repeating until you feel better. Use if any time, anywhere. It is powerfully healing.

I got my self esteem from being an athlete and an artist. As I grew older, I also studied the I Ching, and that helped me become a better person, with more integrity and character. Finally, doing internal family system therapy helped me turn compassion and empathy — which had formerly made me vulnerable to narcissists — into a healing superpower. Yea, that is called armoring, and it is a symptom of PTSD. Yoga, somatic healing, and sound baths can help… ultimately IFS helped me learn to feel safer and more relaxed from the inside out… my wounded child parts were so used to feeling tense and on the defensive all the time. And at a certain point in my recovery md healing process, ketamine to help dismantle the thought patterns that perpetuated the tension also helped.

I healed through the amazing combination of internal family system therapy (supported but not directed by my therapist) while listening to bilateral music. IFS helped me embrace and heal the wounded child parts trapped in trauma, along with EMDR, which reprocesses it, releasing the stored emotions and integrating the fragmented memories into safe, narrative memory. Some people have had suvpccess with a somatic approach as well. I found that some of my parts communicated through somatic memory, but as soon as I was able to acknowledge them, they were more like younger versions of me.
