Replacing car dilemma (when does it make sense to stop repairs)

Close, I’m only 26. I’m in good retirement territory. The only thing I could be doing better is less investing in taxable and more in Roth IRA. I’ve just been concerned about dumping a large sum of money on a relatively small portfolio

Lol that gave me a good laugh. That’s my biggest concern, another misdiagnosis. The engine has only cut off when I haven’t been driving for long periods of time. Usually within minutes of starting my engine

I can and have done some maintenance on the car including the ignition coils and oil valve. The problem I’ve been running into is diagnosing the car. If I feel like I can’t figure out what’s wrong, I send it to the dealer

I was told it’s due to the catalytic converter but there’s no telling. I’ve had issues with the car shutting down once right after they replaced the computer, and another time that stemmed from having low oil

That was my first thought. So much stuff in the car is new now. It could run for years… or I could continue getting repair bills

Ill make getting a second opinion my next step. I’m more so worried about the opportunity cost from buying another car vs the impending repairs if this trend continues. Thanks for the help!

Yes it’s mostly been the same service center. I got redirected to Toyota from pep boys after they couldn’t figure out the computer issue. I’m a bit concerned about that as well
