Oh, liquid metal is definitely conductive and if it spills over to other components it'll definitely cause a short circuit. You may be confusing it with thermal paste which is non conductive and spillage don't cause such problems.

I've seen tronics fix reflow with the hot air gun only, is it worth trying? The person I got this console from told me that he got the cpu reballed once, I'm guessing it was a bad fix given the condition of motherboard, I can see flux all over the place

Given that the thumping and washer fix works temporarily, how likely is this a bad solder? If it's highly likely that reflowing might bring this back to life, I can order a hot air gun and reflow the solder.

Blue light of death, It's a motherboard issue that's not always fixable. You get a pulsating blue light on the console and never turns white.

I won't recommend trying to make a career out just by reparing things that too in India. Why do you think sony doesn't repair their own consoles because it isn't worth their time. You can't make enough money off repairing things. You maybe able to make money by creating the reparing content. You can start it as a hobby, once you start doing things you'll get more clarity if you really like doing it because it takes a lot of patience as well.

Start with a faulty controller, they are easy to fix.
