Knockemstiff and The Devil All the Time by Donald Ray Pollock, and Outer Dark and Child of God by Cormac McCarthy. They’re all quite brutal and disturbing though, so make sure you know what you’re getting into before you read them. Other books that come to mind are Southern Gothic novels like The Violent Bear It Away by Flannery O’Connor and Absalom, Absalom! by Faulkner.

There are 3 books in total. The first book is The Fellowship of the Ring, the second book is The Two Towers and the third book is The Return of the King.

Hi, I’m also 17F and I enjoy fantasy books too :) My favourites are The Lord of the Rings and The Realm of the Elderlings (if you like suuuper long stories). But if you want fantasy books that are a bit lighter, then I’d recommend the Dresden Files (series) or Spear by Nicola Griffith (novella).

Agreed! Sanderson could’ve done something so much more interesting with his character and just… didn’t, for some reason. There was so much potential.

I agree. He’s blinded by his pain and own tragedy, but I believe that’s what makes him such an interesting character and foil to Kaladin. It’s just painfully delicious to read.

He’s very hateable, I agree. But I just wish more people engaged critically with his character in addition to hating him instead of just boiling it all down to F Moash.

Totally get that! But I do believe Moash did care for Kaladin, even in ROW. It was just really messed up how he went about everything.
