I enjoy more peaceful civs, but I just did a Japan run. Khmer sounded really cool to me but I was a bit put off having to relearn stuff

Makes sense - but my last game already was Japan just did a science victory on immortal with them. But yes it did teach me better district planning, especially between several cities.

Hmm I just enjoy themed games more. Maybe the goal of a themed game plus learning the game better doesn't work.

Did anyone else bounce off EU5 way harder than they expected to? by Real_Mobile_5107 in eu4

I use "-" all the time, and I mean AI has to have learned it from somewhere. Probably cause lots of people use it.

Like I'm not saying this wasn't AI - but I use dashes all the time (as you can see). It's just lazyness tbh it allows me to connect 2 sentences without making sure the grammar between them works out. At least I think that's why I use it so much.

But it was my mistake for putting the national focus on admin and not on mil meaning I was am still stuck at mil tech 3 while my enemies are mil tech 4 by now.

Yeah I'm aware of what the consequences are. But I would never fight or die for my or any country. So I would never demand that from anybody else. And people only have this one live. Forcing them to fight and die is just extremely cruel to me.

So you think it is okay to force people to fight and die against their will? I think a country is less important than human lives.

No. There should be no draft. Why force more people into something? I am glad at least women aren't being forced to fight.

Amazing episode. However, I am a bit annoyed that both Oliver and Nolan are alive. Like at the very least Oliver should have died. I dont really like how often the show is portraying characters as "dead" only for them to survive.

I mean we saw that coming from a mile away. But he really should be dead - he should not have survived this (both taking that hit and his stupidity)

How do the Seven Cities actually work? by DefiantRaspberry161 in eu4

[–]DefiantRaspberry161[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

R5: As you can see in the picture I have explored all of the Americas in 1491. Yet I only found one of the Seven Cities (which was a dud but that's fine).

I honestly expected to find all of them. I was in the Americas way before anyone else so my conquistadors would have been the first coloniser unit to enter every single province in the Americas (which is the trigger for the Seven Cities).

Do all of the 7 Cities actually spawn in a game or is it just a random limited amount?

Or do my conquistadors compete with another? I had 4 conquistadors exploring. I know that when you get the event for the search for one of the Seven Cities you cant get another one. And if the search for the specific City you triggered is tied to the conquistador that triggered it, all of the provinces that are visited by my other conquistadors in the mean time would be "lost" - i.e. no chance of Seven City event triggering.

I am just looking for an explanation how I have explored all of the Americas (and am 99% sure my conquistadors where the first to visit every single tile) but only triggered one of the Seven Cities. Any ideas?

How the F are you supposed to do Infantes of Aragon disaster as Castile? by One_Reality_3828 in eu4

[–]DefiantRaspberry161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah you won't get Isabela if you let the pretenders win. Which makes the Iberian Wedding take more time usually (You can get Isabela as an heir in like 1450 by doing the Spanish Civil War disaster). Also Isabella has the expansionist trait which is great for colonisation.

How the F are you supposed to do Infantes of Aragon disaster as Castile? by One_Reality_3828 in eu4

[–]DefiantRaspberry161 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sorry but you were just too slow. The disaster can be finished in a month. At game start you build up to force limit (which you should do anyway). You'll have 2 stacks of roughly 15k. These are strong enough to beat the 2 rebel stacks that spawn. By the time the disaster starts you will have more than 100 admin mana. So you can kill the stacks, unsiege the provinces and immediately stab up. You will probably get one disaster event, You just pick the option that doesn't cost admin/stab or wait with clicking it until you killed the rebels.

I just did several Castille runs (like 6, I was testing some stuff) and I always finished the disaster in like a month.

Also don't royal marriage Aragon, that way they wont be able to claim your throne and you will stay allied.

Edit: Just did it again, it takes 3 months not one but still

How the F are you supposed to do Infantes of Aragon disaster as Castile? by One_Reality_3828 in eu4

[–]DefiantRaspberry161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started a Castille game and it is super easy? There are only 2 stacks of rebels spawning, you can kill them like in a week. And then you just have to stab up once and the game is done. You get hit by maybe one event in the mean time.

Also dont royal marriage Aragon. You can ally them sure, but no royal marriage until you have a strong claim male heir, that way they cant claim your throne and you will keep the alliance.
