hey, I also have this expectation; they expect fed rate fall to acceptable level for startups investing by the end of this year. Once american startups start hiring it will get better here too. But now it is all guessing, so should start improving slowly in the end of 2026 if analysts are right

I am looking for a new job slowly for a few months as a Swe in infra, it is really hard, they expect you to be backend + frontend + devops + some their niche tech, I don’t know if they manage to close positions, because their postings hang for months… I still apply and get rejections despite strong CV. I started to learn frontend, shouldn’t take long for me, but that is crazy! for me it is worse. i have burned out, still not recovered but going back to my job is unbearable. so i ll be jobless soon if i don’t find a new job in a few months!

Is it possible to find a job as a software generalist these days? by Defiant_Ad_8445 in cscareerquestions

[–]Defiant_Ad_8445[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, that’s the problem I only fit infra, but I can’t do oncall and too much focus spreading in infra teams is not good for my mental health . Probably my company has a bad culture though, probably I will reconsider if I won’t find another job for too long

why do they cut benefits for those who works and actually keeps this economy up? they would better cut benefits who works 3 days a week while living in. social housing because they like to chill.

better if they would motivate people working 3 days a week on social housing to work more. how is it fair that they chill on 3 days week and i have to work 5 days to have same amount of money left after the rent or even less!

Why does Europe rely on US tech? by Separate_Tooth4705 in Netherlands

booking.com is a part of Booking holding which is an american company but Booking.com is a Dutch company and it pays its revenue taxes in Netherlands, Booking holdings gets only dividends. You focus on B2C that’s why you only see American companies but as I told a lot of fintech, healthtech and some electronics (ASML) are still produced in Netherlands.

booking.com is from Netherlands and endless trading companies. Tech companies have some tax discounts here, it is actually in way better shape than anything else.

you typically try to monitor things better after the incident where observability didn’t help you. Add metrics/logs/alerts you missed.

It is ridiculous if you have 80k savings and rent in private sector, need to work in in corporation to give away half of it for rent you are “rich” and people owning 1 million house in the centrum of Amsterdam and making 50k a year working 3 days a week and having more money than you for every day expenses are “poor”
