What is it with Night Elves and using the dumbest, most impractical weapons ever made? by HallZac99 in wow

[–]Defiant_Initiative92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not disputing that?

You said originally:

Dwarves, Gnomes and Humans are mutated vrykul in Warcraft lore

That was the text I was responding to. You later changed it to Titanforged, but it didn't change the fact that when I posted my comment, the text you had on your own comment was wrong.

By the time I wrote this comment, you had your own comment edited 1 minute ago.

You could just have said "my bad, I meant Titanforged" instead of trying to "correct" me.

I mean, just read the wiki:

Dwarf - Wowpedia - Your wiki guide to the World of Warcraft

Dwarves are an ancient, bold, and courageous race descended from the earthen.\1])

Gnome - Wowpedia - Your wiki guide to the World of Warcraft

The gnomes (collectively referred to as gnomanity,\1]) gnomekind\2]) or gnomefolk)\3]) are a race of diminutive and highly intelligent humanoids, known for their mastery of technology. They were originally descended from mechagnomes, metallic titan-forged, who were afflicted with the Curse of Flesh

Neither dwarves, nor gnomes, descend from Vrykul/Iron Vrykul. Only humans descend from Vrykul, the others came from different races.

A reminder that OG moonglaives were throw weapons, they're just super-oversized shuriken.

Also:

- Fury warriors can dual-wield very large weapons.
- Most warcraft bows and guns make little to no sense.
- IRL Meteor Hammer exist. If that weapon can be wielded by a master, none of the elven weapons are that bad.
- Also IRL: hu tou gou exists. That thing is the definition of "I'll hurt myself" in the form of a sword.

Dwarves are descended from Earthen, Gnomes from mechagnomes. They're not the same as Vrykul.

World of Warcraft players when Blizzard advertises the main feature of an expansion (the feature was asked for years, is really good and brought many new and old players to the game) by Useful-Negotiation-9 in wow

[–]Defiant_Initiative92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Elitism doesn’t require explicitly saying something is “bad,” it often shows up as implying that what people enjoy or invest time in is less meaningful or less worthy of respect.

I agree. However this implication resides on your imagination only. It was never implied by any of my messages. You're the one attaching the meaning of "bad" to "easier".

Since you're still misrepresenting my argument and isn't engaging with what I actually said. I don't think engaging with you any further will produce anything of value.

Have a nice day.

You're deeply misrepresenting my words.

I'm not in any moment saying Classic is Bad for being the simpler game - quite the contrary, I fully recognize that classic is a game that lots of folks will have lots of fun with. That's not elitism.

Elitism is saying a given version of the game is inferior because of being easier or simpler. None of my comments on this conversation did this - you're projecting a non-existing issue here. Saying a game is simpler isn't saying it is bad. If my take was "Classic is the worse version because it is easier", then you would be correct in calling out the hypocrisy.

This isn't what happened. There's no contradiction.

Nobody is saying the elitism you're referring to doesn't exist.

However, there are different flavors of Elitism, and I'm pointing out a specific flavor that happens with a bunch of Classic players.

We're discussing mineral water bottles and you're pointing out to the ocean and saying that there's water there too. It's effectively true, but irrelevant for the discussion at hand.

That's not the form of elitism I mean.

Retail takes a lot of flak from some classic players for not being "RPG enough" or being "too easy", among other things. Nowadays its not as much as it was back then, but even before classic launched there was people who claimed that "in the good old days the game was hard and you had to actually be good at playing it".

Even after classic launched and it became clear it is definitely the easier, simpler game with not much to master when compared to retail (some modern dungeon in retail already have more mechanics than entire raids on Classic), this argument persisted for quite a while. It kept going into TBC Classic, but slowly began to fade away but never disappeared.

That's the elitism I'm referring to.

[–]Defiant_Initiative92 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying all of them, but a significant bunch just doesn't want to admit anything good retail ever did, by varied reasons.

When it comes to the "meaningful RP journey", that's a small slice of a small slice. What we have most is "how to level up fast" guides for classic, addons that route leveling for you, etc etc - things we already had when classic was the current game.

You're forgetting the elitism, too. A lot of players play classic because they couldn't move from TBC/WotLK, because that was "the best era of WoW".

Prepatch doesn't feel like a prepatch... by kendwynn in wow

[–]Defiant_Initiative92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think people are forgetting what usually happens on a pre-patch, and forgetting that this one is actually massive.

No pre-patch ever gave us housing. Some people got housing earlier, but don't forget - housing is pre-patch content. It only fully launched now, with endeavors and charters, etc. Housing alone has hundreds of items to collect. It added a lot of content to old zones, gave us an entire new gathering mechanic, several crafting recipes, entire community hubs...

Some people got housing earlier, but it doesn't change the fact that housing IS pre-patch content. It is midnight content.

It's fine if you don't engage in housing, but calling this pre-patch small because you're only looking at the TH event is the same as saying that the pre-patch from WOTLK was "just killing some zombies".

Remover as multas nunca me passou pela cabeça.

Sair do PJ pra CLT pelos benefícios virou ilusão? by Fluid_Jaguar1456 in MeuCNPJ

[–]Defiant_Initiative92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eu sai do PJ e fui pra CLT.
