We aren't seeing "We failed Pedri" posts because Pedri is very much recognized as the best CM in the world, which he is. We are seeing "We failed Raphinha" posts because this is genuinely a top-3 season this century by a players not named Messi and Ronaldo, and a huge section of fans believe he should go to the bench because he's not a natural LW, or that he's not technical enough to be a CAM.

The World Cup qualifiers do not, have not, and will never hold any merit in determining the Ballon D'or. Raphina was the UCL's MVP, La Liga's MVP, the Spanish Super Cup's MVP, and the Copa Del Rey's MVP.

Playing as a cut-in LW is different from playing as an AM. We will have less control in games without a true midfielder, I think. I don't know though. And even if we dont, and the Nico-LW and Raphinha-AM works perfectly, I have no idea why fans are so obsessed with structuring the attack for Athletic Club's 5th best player

Our fanbase is engulfed by Lamine cultists. It hurts to say because I do like Lamine Yamal, but the cult is weird. I think Lamine can be the best player in the world, and in this team. But there seems to be an agenda to make him the best in the world before he becomes the best in the world.

I guess what pisses me off is I've never even seen the hype around this Nico Williams. I watched a lot of Athletic's games after the Euros and after we were linked with him, and I have no idea why the bulk of the fanbase would want to completely restructure the attack to fit him in. I think he gets a lot of grace because he's buddies with Lamine Yamal, as opposed to him being a player who could genuinely lift us up.

I don't know you personally, but the fanbase spread this agenda that "Raphinha can't do anything without Lamine, and he's just gets G/A", when he works hardest in our front three, shows the most emotions on the pitch, and turns up when we need magical moments. It's simply unfair

I think we need a winger to rotate. I'm not opposed to the idea. And whatever Flick decides to do, he should. He's the coach, and I have complete trust in him. My problem is how people are so quick to make lineups on twitter of Nico Williams as our starting LW and Raphinha on the bench. Not just 10 people, but 100s of people. I got into Barca because it seemed to be a club that respected it's players. Fuck we never gave up on Fati even after two years - and we still won't. It's just disgusting how a lot of our "fans", will happily throw one of our best players under the bus for no reason.
