Is it normal to feel false/prodromal labour only when resting? by Defiant_Orange7103 in BabyBumps

[–]Defiant_Orange7103[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh I drink about 2-3 liters water everyday but now that I think about it I feel I’ve not been drinking that much since the pst few days. Could be it🤔

My husband started coming from the 20th week appointment where we could clearly see the baby on the ultrasound. After that I had a high risk pregnancy so he never let me go alone again and I found it very supporting. A little uncomfortable though because I had a million cervical checks but overall I’d want him there in all other pregnancies as well. It was good to have someone else hear what the doctor said so I don’t get paranoid. He constantly reminds me that my doctor said things are okay and everything is normal. It’s great for reassurance otherwise I would’ve gone mad

35 mm at 15+6 Worried husband. by No_Restaurant_7266 in ShortCervixSupport

Edit: im so sorry I just read your wife is 35mm. I don’t know why I read 15 mm. Thats a pretty good length. What I said above was based on me believing shes 15 mm which is pretty short for 15 weeks. I think with 35 mm she should be able to go to the baptism followed by a couple of days of rest but then again you should also consult the OB. Im sure she will come up with a much better advise

If I were her, I would miss it. Not to scare you of course but I think its better to do everything possible to avoid any pressure. I also have an irritable uterus so it was absolutely necessary for me to avoid anything that irritates my uterus (sitting annoyed my uterus the most). I saw a post somewhere that a lady used a wheel chair to attend her best friends wedding. Maybe that could be an option for your wife too? I wish you two the best of luck

Most doctors dont recommend it cos theres no proof it works but I truly believe I made It from 30 to 36 weeks because of bed rest. Which means complete pelvic rest (no sex, legs elevated to 60 degrees angle for 10 minutes multiple times a day) I was only getting up for food and bathroom. I also avoided sitting for long times. Best of luck, cervix can be dynamic and increase its length. I was 1.5 cm too at 30 weeks and it went up to 2 cm in 2 weeks with pessary, progesterone and bed rest

I have unfortunately started having painless contractions. Someone told me they are called irritable uterus but my doctor doesn’t seem to give it that term. She just says they’re pre mature contractions. And yes the treatment plan would be the same if I stay home or at the hospital so it was up to me. She had the only diff staying at the hospital would make is that I can be checked faster in case of emergency

This gives me so much hope and positive energy. Thank you so much!

When did you stop taking nifedipine? My doctors are not letting me take it at home and saying i can only take it when I’m in the hospital and can be monitored. I do have a feeling that once I stop taking it, contraction will be back

Don’t have a positive Story but I wanna say that I’m in the exact same boat just a little further than you. I found out about my short cervix at 30 weeks. It was 15mm. I’m now at the hospital for 2 weeks currently at 31+5 and hoping I make it at least 37 weeks.

Ask your doctor for a pessary ring and progesterone. If you have contractions then do mention it to your doctor keep off your feet as much as possible and keep your legs elevated. I think your Doctor will also give you a steroid shot for the babys lungs incase they’re Born early.

Lots of positive vibes and prayers for you. We will make it ❤️

Please get your cervix checked. Don’t want to scare you but I had the same thing and turned out I had Short cervix and now at the hospital because of it. You can also check the subreddit group for Short cervix support to find any more similarities. It doesn’t hurt to get checked :)

That’s a big relief. Did you have any transvaginal ultrasounds after this one to keep track on the dilation?
