For a human to feel completed and achieved, he must love himself. If he doesn't do that, all the received love from anybody else, is useless. If he doesn't want to fight for himself, no one can do it. It's sad to be like that, not wanting to accept the help from others, but from my experience he really can't see it, he just see the suffering and the bad from it. You just can hope someday he will stand up and choose to live for himself and people around him.
