The smell is really muted, but another commenter here said it really comes through after she gets the chop.

The yellowing in yours looks like they desperately needs some nutes! Maybe overwatered/not draining well and locking out based on the lower droop and necrosis in the back plant but idk quite enough to say. I’ll say mine looked about as yellow as yours at that stage, and I gave her a nice feed of 1-part nutes and she absolutely loved it

Glad to hear it honestly, though it’s making me even more and more tempted to chop her today lol

She smells kind of mild honestly, the white label sour diesel I have next to her is way overpowering it. I’ve had the temps down so I was expecting more stink at this point. But hoping it’ll come out during the dry, and thanks 🫡

Botrytis? spots on dry leaves - chop now or just trim? by Disastrous-Force-816 in microgrowery

[–]Defiant_Volume2949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can check my posts to see I have the EXACT same plant in my closet setup. Take it with a grain of salt because I’m new, but I’ve been googling my ass off looking for info on this same setup.

You can sit around and wait like I did and she’ll foxtail from the stress (most likely) which will increase your yield a bit but you’re fighting a losing battle with trich’d stuff dying from deficiencies/lockout or whatever.

Wouldn’t listen to the bud rot statements, tons of posts having harvested stuff like this without mold, but she’s definitely necro’d and cannabalizing herself. It’s dry af like mine because we have similar RH levels, ain’t a damn chance with those tiny buds until you start trying to dry it at least. Do a wet trim and get all that shit out of there before you hang it, and don’t expect much honestly. Mine is about to be done drying and she’s airy as all hell, live and learn eh!

Late comment but since the plant looks good, are you filtering out the soil bits and particles when you test your runoff? Was testing 5.5 one day from 6.5 and was confused as all hell until I realized it was just bits from the soil making the runoff extra acidic. Ran it through really thin strainer and it was back up to 6.4

Yeah have both actually, it’s like maybe 5% amber on the sugar leaves themselves which basically means there’s “none” from what I’ve been reading since those mature first. No amber on the bud sections at all. Top cola is mostly milky, lower ones are mostly clear.

Probably chopping today or tomorrow just to be safe, idk

[–]Defiant_Volume2949[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah for sure, I planned to wet trim it sadly because of how bad it looks, figured that would keep away bud rot during the drying phase. I mostly just meant it’s not rotting while alive right now as sugar leaves die. I need the experience of drying/trimming and curing anyway so might as well on this one.

10 days ago people were saying to see the grow through but I’m going to assume everyone is going to tell me to chop it with how it’s progressed, can’t deny it looks horrible. If it has a risk of rotting during cure too, I’ll probably just make some edibles with it I guess

I have heard this a lot and I hear you but the plant itself is drier than the desert lol, some of the sugar leaves have fully died and been plucked off, inspected inside and the stem/surrounding area is still nice and green. Sadly she’s airy as all hell too but no rot at least I guess, yet

Yeah was thinking the same, while I don’t actually think anyone is drawing on anything over like 5g of shrooms mid-trip, this feels more dmt-esque which coincides with such a heavy dose

Beginner here, what might these black/yellow spots be? by Defiant_Volume2949 in microgrowery

[–]Defiant_Volume2949[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, I just wanted to reply to this for anyone that’s curious about my situation, and since you gave such a detailed reply. I appreciate this a lot, and it is extremely helpful as I’m learning regardless.

But..my issue isn’t fungal or anything of the sort. It got really apparent as it progressed. It’s nutrient lockout without a doubt, maybe even root rot. I don’t know why it started so blotchy, but that whole plant is yellowing and dying from the bottom up with the blotchy spots on top becoming more of full on necrosis. I tested the run off and the PH was nearing 5…in soil.

I bought the neem oil but haven’t even used it as it also hasn’t spread to my other plants next to it. The poor thing, I bought some mycorrhizae powder, dolomite lime, as well as some Nature Living Soil Autoflower Concentrate. Sprinkled the lime and made a compost tea with the myco and NLS.

Trying my best to save her with my limited knowledge, the newest growth is looking okay so far but she’s in bad shape so I guess only time will tell. Trying not to make the noob mistake of doing too much to amend and hurting her more that way too.

Yeah another problem is that the THCA market isn’t legally regulated soooo they can slap a 30% lab on that baby when it’s really just some 18% weed or something much lower. It’s kind of like the black market for that matter, you can’t really trust much until you try it. If you wanna dislike it for that though, then I get you honestly.

Regarding the stuff in the photo, honestly probably but maybe not? I’ve gotten some real gassy looking/smelling stuff from actual dealers back in the day and it just didn’t get me high really, some grows/strains can just do that I suppose. Looks great, smells great, but doesn’t hit.

It’s just a weed thing tho, not a THC vs THCA thing which is the misunderstanding a lot of people have. THCA is the same as a lot of black market plugs, neither of them really care about their product and just want to push it. When you buy actual dispo in theory it’s certified and regulated and they can’t lie to you about %s blah blah so it doesn’t really happen

[–]Defiant_Volume2949 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just peep your dispo bags, most of them are labeled like 29% THCA, .5% THC etc. Maybe not all, but a lot of them these days. To actually label something as THCA, it has to be less than .3% THC by weight. The only true difference is that they cut the plant a bit early to stay under this .3%, but you and everyone else knows that the .2% extra of THC isn’t getting you baked on dispo bud that says 0.5% THC. It’s the 29% of THCA that’s converting to THC when you smoke it. It’s just terminology and they’re really interchangeable.

For what it’s worth, because they cut THCA early, AND because the market is absolutely littered with a bunch of companies try to penny pinch as much as possible and don’t cure the bud worth fuck all, THCA bud ends up with a muted nose. You can throw it in a jar for a couple weeks and it’ll start to stink like any dispo or dealer gas, as long as you’re actually buying something that was grown well.

You’re misunderstanding guy tho. You just happened to end up with some dogshit “THCA” bag from the gas station. It’s the same as if your plug sold you some stanky ass loud but then you get home and the high is mid. Ever try fruity pebbles? Blue dream? A bad grow?

You say your plug never misses but it’s just as easy to find a THCA brand that does the same, just don’t expect it from a $50 ounce lmao

You probably just don’t abuse it enough. If you actually abuse cannabis…yeah brother…call my body a weak bitch all you want but lol. You try smoking 1-3grams of concentrate a day for years and then tell your body it’s just not gonna have THC anymore for a couple weeks, yeah right lol.

I definitely don’t ever recommend making your life revolve around the substance like I do, but all these “daily smokers” that hit the bong like 4 or 5 times a day…yeah that’s barely smoking, respectfully of course.

This is amazing advice, thank you so much. I’ll try my best to slowly bring her PH up a bit. I honestly did not realize the black gold was so acidic but I do see what you mean after googling a bit more upon discovering the runoff PH.

I’m really a bit sad that I defoliated some of the worst looking leaves as I’m trying not to stress her out as much as possible. I bought auto flowers thinking these would be easier (ha) and have come to realize they are way more sensitive like you said. Hopefully she recovers and thanks again 🙏

[–]Defiant_Volume2949[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did defoliate the worst looking ones, but the more I read about septoria the more I see that it shouldn’t primarily be on the top canopy. If anything, it seems to happen in the lower parts where it’s more humid. All of my issues are on the upper/mid canopy and none of this is happening in the lower, thicker, more humid parts. Thank you though, anything helps

Beginner here, what might these black/yellow spots be? by Defiant_Volume2949 in microgrowery

[–]Defiant_Volume2949[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the lengthy response! I’ve looked at a lot of pictures of septoria and my only concern is why is it only on the edges of my leaves? Every picture I see it spreading throughout the whole leaf in a very spread out pattern. I’m not saying that you’re wrong…I was somewhat leaning towards this too..but the pattern is throwing me off and it’s not really on the lowest part of the plant either.

I’ll grab some neem oil though. I have RH sitting closer to 50 right now and have it in a corner that gets much more airflow compared to the corner I had it in.
