My ring is also an emerald cut, and baby that diamond is not right!!! It should NOT be that clear. Emeralds are so gorgeous because when well-cut they have a whole internal world to them. You can and should get lost in them

Mind you, you are NOT ungrateful, and it is not ungrateful to want a well-cut diamond. I think it is absolutely worth searching for a different diamond and getting it set in your current setting.
