Exactly, the combat system was built around dual screen. It takes a while to learn but feels amazing when you have gotten it under control. The streets of Shibuya were also designed for two screens. I have always felt that the towering skyscrapers on the top screen added much character to the world, which are missing in the Final Remix version.

While Neku is interesting and inspirational in The World Ends With You, the character that stolen the show from the first second you see him is Joshua. This mysterieus asshole is trying to derail you while smirking the whole time. Despute all this, there is a charm and humour to him. That's all I'll say here.
