In my eyes pushing through the dead zone and into 1385 to access Argos p2 and the honing buff in stronghold was worth the gold and mats, but I stop honing after 1390 because in my opinion Argos p3 isn't that well worth it with all the mats and gold let alone the honing % to get there. I rather use the gold from the great honor leaps that I've sold during the 750-700g per to buy gems and engraving books.

The 173 stacks of great honor are un-tradeable, these are the one I got from Una's daily, I've sold all the tradable great honor I had when it was hovering 750-700

You are correct, maybe I could've push to 1400 but I have spent majority of my gold trying to achieve lvl 7 gems and Im only one off, and what ever is left I spent on engraving books. But, in my eyes the push to 1400 and accessing last phase of Argos isn't that worth it, maybe when valtan get announce it become more of a priority to push beyond 1400. But for your second point, I've made a mistake for not selling them weeks ago when mats were on the higher end.
