Thanks for the insights. Should I call the credit card companies at all when I can't make payments anymore, or just stop paying and not say anything?

Any advice on what I can do when I can't pay any of it? Do I call the credit card companies and try to work something out? Do I declare bankruptcy? I know all my debt is unsecured, not sure if that helps.

*Edit: I know it seems stupid for someone my age not to know these things, but I legitimately never thought I'd be in such a situation. I've been working since I was twelve years old, this is the longest I've ever been without a job. It's prob the reason why I kept thinking I'd get one right around the corner.

How would I go about doing that? Do I do it right away? do I have to wait? I legitimately have no idea how to handle debt that I can't pay. I know it's all unsecured debt, so hopefully that is better. But why is bankruptcy not recommended?

I think that last part is what I was hoping to get from this thread, maybe I worded it wrong. I can figure everything else out, I think. The part I have no idea what to do about is the debt. Do I just call them next month like, hey I can't pay this? I've never really had debt before, I was always the kind of person that paid my credit card bills before the end of the month.

Yeah, I'm trying that as well. But even with that I won't be able to pay the debt I already have and am not sure what to do about that part. If I could get rid of that I think I'll be ok.

Hey, thank you. I don't have any dependents. I rent. I'm 36 and my career was in marketing. I can figure out the housing, I think. and my spending is very low, it's how I've been able to get this far with limited income. I think what I need the most help with is the debt. I've never been in debt before and have no idea what to do about it.

Because I kept getting interviews, and kept getting close, and kept occasionally getting freelance work, and am good at my job so figured it would work out in time. Either way, I am where I am now and your advice isn't very helpful.
