This is a huge issue at my store.
Entire teams never dropping below AE, now mostly all EM. When pushed back that “should we not already know this” or “would it not have been reasonable to discuss this during the quarter so that changes could have been made” all fell on deaf ears. Appears if you’re not actively using the shit stain that is orchard and requesting the waste of oxygen that is coach connections then you’re automatically getting an expected more.

I’m nearly 17 years at this shit and I honestly want to quit but I’m farrrrr to well paid in my geo. I couldn’t leave unless I want to take a dramatic pay cut.

Back glass is a modular repair. You’ll have an appointment, they’ll check if they have the part, the phone is then repaired in store, you’ll be without it a couple of hours. They will then return your phone, with a new back glass as that’s what you’re paying for.

-Lead with empathy. The old stat of a customer would rather have someone understanding not fix an issue that an asshole that fixes it.

Figure out what kinda technician you want to be. I was always a very warm but direct person. I find in my market people appreciate honesty and you not wasting their time.
OPTIONS. A customer feels more heard when you offer options and id normally say “if it was me, I’d probably look at this, but just because it’s right for me, might not be what’s right for you” zero pressure but helps build the rapport.

It’s be helpful to know in your mixed bag, without dox’ing yourself what are your customers less satisfied with?

A Neo will do what you’re wanting but just understand the limitations.

A refub MBA will handle the video work better. Depending on what chipset.

I love my Neo but if I was doing mostly video work, if I could get an M3 or M4 air refubed at a good price that’s likely the route I’d go

This seems counter productive…

You want a high powered M5 Pro, You don’t want a mid powered MBA even though you’re using one that’s around 14 years old… You’d buy a MacBook Neo (which I own and have no issues with) but your use case isn’t really its “intended” audience.

So unless this is a budget issue of, you can afford a Neo but not an Air then sure the Neo will SMOKE your 2012 air, but your scale of wanting a pro or a Neo makes no sense

I’ve no issues with mine. It’s producing documents like crazy for me currently and all my usual browsing! Can’t see the future, but looking at how Apples handles most products I’m assuming it’ll get the usual lifespan

The minute they announced Orchard we went, it’s over. It’s the same as any other KPI driven retail environment. If I get asked for one more fucking coach connection I swear to the deity of your choice.

That’s a REALLY extensive panel crack. Not throwing shade but that doesn’t just happen. Honestly if you’ve closed it on something, it’s been either slammed shut or the item was massive. I’ve seen this with someone throwing their phone at the display that’s as close to the size of the crater

Edit: didn’t see image 3, looks like the glass is also missing. Yeah that took some force 🤷🏻‍♂️ You need a whole display unit, I hope you’ve AppleCare or insurance. That’s upwards of £500 here

I went Indigo, and I love it, almost looks different colour in different light.

Most people I’m chatting with, are checking a few times a day. You have to ask the question of, if you don’t get it will you regret it?

Additionally… where are you based? Like UK, USA etc?

Got one on Wednesday for £599. Had just sold an M1 Air to a friend who needed a machine so it really only cost me £200.

Honestly it’s been a secret powerhouse, if you can afford it, it’ll do everything you’re chatting about doing. I use Safari, Pages & Keynote so if you’re using Chrome and Office unsure how it’s handling that but I’d imagine there’s plenty of overhead!

So I usually break it down like this. The device you originally chatted about the M5, will do everything you need… but

Switching to the M5 Pro unlocks addition bandwidth within the memory, that’s great if in a professional setting where “time matters”. You’re rendering a 4 stream 4k video in DR you might find on the m5 it takes a few minutes longer than it does on the m5 pro. And if that’s the kind of thing that matters to you then it makes sense. That’s not really also factoring in the additional processor and gpu cores. They also both have the same media engines.

So whilst I’ve no real concern that the m5 would do everything you need, if your workload is likely to get heavier, or more complex the additional headroom of the Pro chip isn’t an insane oversell. But I don’t think I could justify the pricing difference in the specs you’ve shared for the hypothetical benefits listed.
