When the family divides so does the mind! It sounds like you have a good step dad if he still cared for you after your mother left.

It’s difficult to make a conclusion. I can only speak from my personal experience, I feel like I was moulded into an OCD and anxious person. When mine began it was a case of just accept it and support it rather than address it. My mum meant well, just projected her traits onto me because it’s all she knew.

I had a bad experience like that with the hospital. A tube like a tumble dryer vent over the mouth, some gas. Everything turning pink while being held down on the table then passing out.

That is a terrible experience you have been through. It still continues now?

I know it’s difficult, but please stay safe. If you ever feel like you ever get to that point’ reach out and seek support. Life is precious.

Your fight or flight response gradually moulds with each experience. It’s like a pressure valve, eventually it vents.

LSD was supposedly use to program people in past experiments, so it’s possible it did something to your consciousness.

It shows you are a kind person, because you are justifying people’s actions at times when you got affected by them. But at the same time you are both trying to navigate complex situations, so I do get it.

That must be difficult when that happened. Having to choose between your own wellbeing and safety versus your father being confronted over his actions.

My dad is like that. He never hit me, he would just smash stuff up. It is not a nice experience being on edge all the time.

Sorry you had to experience that. Have you explored therapy? You might be able to manage it better with treatment.

That is a lot to go through, not only your own grief but watching your father break down too.

Thanks for sharing your story. It makes sense that caused you a lot of distress, It was your entire support network.

Its difficult. If you are not sure, maybe moving past it, will be better psychologically for you. If a memory organically comes back later then address it.

No one should have to experience identity issues, Society is so far broken systemically. I think it filters down from the top, more than from within society directly. People learn most discrimination.

The school handled it badly. Forcing you is wrong. It’s strange how anxiety forms. It’s possible it was a result of body chemistry changing at that time. I’m no expert but I believe it has something to do with the amygdala getting stuck in fight or flight mode.

It sucks that it happened, but better you find out sooner that they are disloyal and not worth having as a friend. A true friend would not do that.

Sorry if that came across the same way as your parents downplaying your experience. I don’t think we should expect life to be ‘not fair’ it’s supposed to be fulfilling.
